ok, so i spent the last week and a half up at desolation sound (about 3/4 the way up vancouver island on the inside) on my friend's boat. we stayed up in pendrall sound (on redona island) for like 3 days, and the water was around 72 degrees! anyways, this is what we did:

tied a skiing line (water skiing mind you) on a tree atop a big cliff. The line was probably 300 feet or so (the cliff was around 50 ft) on the line we attached a ski tow handle (about 75 feet from the tree or so), and then tied the other end of the line to a dinghy that had TONS of power. you hung on the the handle, and the guy in the boat would haul ass straight out, straightening the line, and slingshotting you about 40 ft into the air!!! it was insane! no need to climb up to a rope swing to fall 10 feet, get pulled up 40 feet, and drop, then do it again!!!!

i acutally only flopped the first time, which was only like 15 feet. we wore wet suits and life jackets so it didn't hurt too bad. the rest of the time you just landed vertical with your arms tucked in.

we did a simalar thing in the bow river. we tied a rope to a tree by a bend where the water was fast then got on this big wooden board you couldnt get that much air but it was pretty fun

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)

hell yeah, rollin down the windows with your arms and legs!!! haha, no, i did some grabs just to be a nerd, but you couldn't throw any rotation just from hanging on the line. one time i let go while swinging forward, so i tucked and tried to do a backflip, but landed upside down.

that sounds mad fun. we have a couple sweet rope swings down by a river near me.

You know something that would really make me applaud? A guy gets stuck in quicksand, then sinks, then suddenly comes shooting out, riding on water skis. How do they do that?

haha, kevin lost the bet

Anyways, i figured out how to do a backflip of the rope swing today, yay for me

So chill on your porch and drink your fortys, and if somebody gives you any crap just tell 'em 'I'm chillin''

yes i did. oh well. maybe next time.

if your still on van island and your bored and like biking check ot the bike park near parksville it is a dual slalom course with some jumps (three are pretty big) berms and drops and some really steep berms it isn't super good but pretty fun, you can find out about it at arrowsmith bikes.

you started out from like maybe 30 feet away from the cliff or so. the line was really long, so it had some spring to it, the boat sorta slowed down, but he just left it at WOT, so your weight would pull the boat back, then you'd go back up again. you could just keep going up and down if you wanted.
