I mountain bike in the off season, and am a frequent visitor to www.nsmb.com , its a newschoolers type mountaing biking community. There main way of fund raising is something called a 'brocard'. Anyone can buy a brocard at selected bike shops, and some of the proceeds from each sale go towards nsmb.
Now, the brocard owners get deals at participating resorts, hotels, restaurants and bike shops. There are deals for the whistler bike park, and at many of the big bike shops around whistler/vancouver.
Wouldnt this be a great idea for new schoolers? Its a way for every person to have a way to donate and get something material out of it. Its worked with nsmb and i dont see why it wouldnt work here.
