I really don't see what the big deal is here with me being in a fraternity. All that I implied is that I do more drinking than the average person. And subsequently have sex. Does that mean that I only have drunken sex? No. Of course not. The average college guy goes out to a party or bar with the intention on getting pretty shitty, and to meet/hang out with girls. And I'm different? I didn't make up the system here. I'm just going along with it and having fun. I did stereotype myself. Most fraternities work hard, and play hard. We do throw big parties, and have a bunch of girls up. But sadly there are some bad fraternities out there, that have lead a large portion of the general population to believe that guys in fraternities are all rapists, assholes, and gay if you will.
Joining a fraternity has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in college. I'm a pre-med student, majoring in Biology and Anthropology and a Minor in Chem, with a 3.6 GPA. And I have a ton of fun every weekend, and work my ass off during the week. One of my fraternity's alumni got me a sick job working in a molecular bio lab, making $15 an hour, and research I've participated in has been published in 3 journals. I really can't beat it. I never could understand the hate. My grandmother was actually the one that talked me into joining a fraternity, because my grandfather was in one.
