Fun shit to do with a broken collarbone?

I broke my collarbone mountain biking yesterday, and need fun things to do. I'm straight up going to go insane if I can't do fun stuff. I get antsy if I don't ride every day, winter or summer...I'm screwed. So, help me NS, please. +k for good ideas!

Hurt my knee during this past ski season, collar bone during biking season, this year is shaping up nicely!

Press on it continuously, a little harder each time until the pain is unbearable. Then masturbate.

Go ahead and learn something. Last 4 years of skiing and the injuries that followed basically taught me 3 programming languages, web design and video editing.

when i had and injury i learned some new editing skills and read a couple books...it sucks i know.. but chill and watch some movies..

I second the learn something. Is there anything you really want to learn? I suppose you can't play many instrument with a broken collarbone.

Depending on the break you should be able to start doing shit again pretty soon. I broke mine this summer and was skiing 3 weeks later so hang in there. In the meantime read some books or learn some photography or something artsy (maybe even draw if you can). Itll be over soon dont get to down

This post just made me so unbelievably happy you have no idea. I didn't need surgery, so it's still like, set in the right place. I just want to ride ASAP.

surgery makes it heal faster! i was shredding 2 weeks after surgery. and shredding hard 3 to 4 weeks after and didnt re break it. Plus i have a gnarly scar.

WHAT THE FUCK. this is EXACTLY what I thought of, almost word for word, before I even clicked on the thread.

I second the notion of learning something artsy, it's such a good outlet for energy and you can do whatever you want on paper.

When I broke my collarbone this winter I took up filming and editing and it seriously helped with boredom. Even if you can't be out biking go and film your friends and learn how to edit! Not only does it help pass the time but they are really good skills to have

This is true. I broke my collarbone skied 2 weeks later re-broke it. Then got the ok from the doctor to ski again 2 weeks later.

it's not as bad as you think. i've broken my collarbone 3 times in my life, and yeah it fucking sucks not being able to move your arm at all, changing shirts is a pain and a half. but after a few days the pain from impact will go away which means you'll be able to do active things that your arm isn't necessary for pretty soon. hopefully it wasn't your dominant hand but if it was then be glad it's summer now and you don't have to right in school everyday. you can do all kinds of stuff still, although things like biking and swimming are going to be out of the picture for a while.

Ha thanks a bunch guys. I'm definitely going to be hiking a bit more now. The only thing that still sucks ass is putting shirts on, and driving stick with one hand. But whatever.

Lesson learned: Don't fall biking. Ever.

That guy in the video slays.

You're lucky you dont have surgery...I fucked up my collarbone pretty bad and I'm still not allowed to do sports 7 weeks after surgery!!

When I had shoulder surgery I took a ton of oxy and then went longboardng. Didn't hurt until the next day

Four weeks after Distal Clavicle Fracture injury doctor told me no sling and start to use arm.

Is it ok to masterbate.

I broke my dominate side.

Broke neck in the summer it was a bunch of bs from doctors and it went from I can ski this winter to I might not be able to ski for 2 years or ever cus a doctor fucked up......kendama .....call of duty.....porn......TV....listrn to music .....learn photoshop......learn editing and filming....self mediation....agar.io......shred sauce .......girls........weed......learn a language or start a company or someshit!

Just came to say you should feel lucky it's set in the right place and you don't need surgery. I snapped my collarbone by falling on a ski pole last season (I don't use poles, but that day I decided to borrow my friends extra pair........yeah.), and it healed back up and Everythig but it was never set, and as a result my shoulder lost 1 inch in length. It's gnarly looking, it's uncomfortable, and it definitely needs surgery (but I probably won't).

Anyway, I feel your pain, man, just keep your chin up! At least it's only November. You got time before the season to heal up. I broke mine at Breck my 2nd day on the mountain in January (after not skiing since early December) and was back to doing urban hits by early/mid February. You gucci, man!

Oh! And Fuck a goddamn clavicle

This.

Hopefully you broke your non-dominant one though. When I broke mine I got a kendama and got pretty good at it lefty, but when I was healthy again I only wanted to do it righty and was so discouraged that I sucked so much that I pretty much stopped kendama-ing altogether. /coolstorybro

I also started drawing again quite a bit because that was pretty much all I could use my arm for and it sparked my interest in art again. I actually drew the things that I'm most proud of following my injury.

Honestly, it'll help to refrain from watching bike or ski edits until you're healthy again to keep your spirits up. Luckily, collarbones tend to heal up pretty quick.

I smoked a lot of hash and ate exotic cuisines for the most part, I would recommend this recovery program to anyone and everyone

When I broke my collarbone, I edited, drew, listened to music, watched movies. You can still go out and walk and do things,... Just don't bump into things or jump.. Keep it as tight in the sling as you can, the longer you let it heal the faster and better it will be

Doc said I deff broke it but I don't see exactly where . He said in time it should "fall back in place naturally. Something about it not being too displayed for surgery. Thank you for positive vibes!!!!!
