Fun resort ski

I am looking for a fun, but stable, resort ski. Needs to handle a bit of hardpack and speed, but also be quick and easy skiing trees and just playing around. Not planning on going to the park, but I like a more centered mount point. Changed out Sakanas and SFBs for the new Devs at the end of last season and want something narrower for when it is less/harder snow.

Any thoughts?
 
I was on the Nordica soul rider 97s for several years. Great skis, Nordica also has fantastic customer service. They replaced my skis for free on two occasions.
 
I think you should look at the Fischer Ranger 102 FR mounted a couple cm forward of recommended.

Moment Deathwish 104, Volkl Revolt 104...I feel like this segment is really crowded with good options these days.

Hi, I have been interested in the Fischers, but the mount point is almost 10 cm from center. Hver you tried them more forward?

You could probably go about +4cm(-6cm of Center) and still be good but anymore than that and you’ll be fighting the sidecut.

Owned the 102FR(had mine plus 2.5cm), Enforcer 104, PB&J(old version of Wildcat 101), Menace 98/Slicer Factory and my current 2021 CT 2.0 are a great mix of all the these skis.

Found the 102FR were great carvers but not very damp or quiet with the carbon tips and not as forgiving in bumps or off trail. The Enforcers were super fun off piste and bumps but not as quiet or as good edge grip on firm snow. PB&J lacked grip on harder snow and not great float for a 101mm. Menace 98 had great grip, super stable and very quiet but it’s blunt tips weren’t great for afternoon crud.

2021 CT 2.0 are made in the Fisher race ski plant with lots of dampening materials, little taper for great grip, perfect turning radius for high speeds and a firm but more forgiving flex than the 102 FR. Afraid the CT Faction line gets lighter and moves factories for 2022 but lots of great deals on the 2021 versions.

I’d actually go for the 2021 CT 1.0 which is 92mm underfoot but exact same construction as the CT 2.0. Very damp, great grip and fun everywhere. Not great float but you have wider skis for that. Mounts from -2cm(Candide/park mount) to -5cm(traditional). See them listed for $399 CAN right now and places in the States have them for $375. Europe have even better prices on them. Pondering getting a pair of backups with them being so cheap now.

Plus, the fishers look really cool in pink.

Yes, it’s very similar in sidecut(just narrower overall) and has the same flex. The issue with it is it’s light weight that makes it less damp and not as great when things get rough/variable.

In addition to the 2021 Faction CT 1.0, another new ski that looks very similar is the new JSkis Fastforward. Should be nice a damp, have good edge grip but still be playful.

Yes, because of the extra weight on the 102 FR will make it more stable through variable terrain. Similar shape so it will be slightly quicker edge to edge on the 94 but edge grip similar as is the carbon tips that aren’t quiet on firm snow. Skis like the 2021 CT 1.0, CT 2.0, Sego and JSkis as well as many other freestyle skis that use rubber to dampen them make them much quieter on hard snow.

If you didn’t have the Devastator, the Fisher 102 FR is a fantastic one ski quiver choice but would be too much overlap with the dev.

I’d lean more towards a lower-mid 90s width ski that’s more damp.

Where are you? If Europe, Faction skis are even cheaper over there! Pondering getting getting a back up pair of 2021 CT 1.0 for a similar use ski as they are so cheap this time of year and the fact that it gets way lighter in this years model.
 
Yes, Norway. I will take a closer look at the CTs then.

[tag=143451]@Anders_N[/tag] lives there and just picked up a pair for a great deal recently. He also owns the 2021 CT 3.0 and CT 2.0 like me as well as many previous versions. 2021 version of the CT 1.0 is much damper and stronger so that’s the one you want!
 
See Faction’s main webpage has stock of the 2021 CT 1.0 under their Sale section at 30% off. Got mine around 40-45% here in Canada so might be even better deals at the local dealers near you.

Which length did you get? Not sure if the 178 is to long (but see they measures closer to 176 ref NS review). Did you have the 1.0 already? If so, whats your thoughts on them?

I got the 183? I belive they were, since I'm 190cm'ish I always get the longest.... but hey also long skis rock. both 1.0 and 2.0 2021's should be fire for wyller and such, even the 3.0 is! used the 3.0's for skied out days with shitty slush/bumps/refrozen.

sakanas, sfb, devs are all very good, but when conditions are rougher, they are a bit lacking. the 2018 and 2020 devs in 194 was amazing though, but you feel the 8KG of skis skiiig the the 2018 :D

I just got the 1.0's 2 weeks ago actually due to the good sale, I havent tried them at indoor due to misc stuff + bum knee still needing some more rest...
 
If you don't need a twin tip ski you should consider the line blade. I demo'd it one day and it is seriously out the gate
 
I have the line blade and OP is local so he can try them if he wants, but they are a bit to wide for our local hill for most days, but I love it for the softer/slushier days.

my favorite is 80-90mm range. but I will change up during the day quite often, grabbbing 2 pairs lets you have fun all day.

shorter than spec. I’d mount around -1.5 to 2cm back of the Candide mark(-3.5 to 4cm from Center) for your use.

Thanks for that, maybe this winter, would be fun to try the Blade. I will try and get my hands on a pair if CT 1.0 on 177.
