Fully Customisable Goggles for £70/$100

Hey guys,

This is a shameless plug, so for that I'm sorry - but it's relevant to Gear Talk and we've already had great feedback elsewhere, so I wanted to share it with you.

For the last two seasons we've been developing our range of fully customisable goggles. We launched on Kickstarter 2 weeks ago and surpassed our goal within 24 hours. We're now approaching our second stretch goal - if we hit it we'll include a hard case with every pair!

We're trying to do things a little differently - each part will be available separately (with no price premium), so you can replace lenses, straps and even just the frame whenever you want, and at a fair price.

Just thought we'd introduce what we've been doing in case anyone was looking for a new pair of goggles this season!

You can check them out athttp://kickstarter.sungod.co/?s=po-ns and feel free to ask any questions on here.

Thanks for any support,

Ali

Wasn't there a company that had these exact same goggles last year on kickstarter and they where from chinese company.

Pretty sure it was deft

Also these really aren't the only customizable goggles out there... Oakley crowbars and splices are very customizable, they're just not advertised as being customizable

Thanks for your comments and taking a look at our campaign!

Our goggles are made by a Chinese manufacturer, we're not in any way trying to hide this. 99% of goggles are made in China now! We've put in the leg work and visited a large number of factories to make sure we found the very best one, our manufacturer is world-class. We've worked very closely with them over the last 2 years to create the best goggles possible, including a new lens construction and refined lens tints to make sure our lenses outperform any other lenses on the market. Lens quality is our number one priority in making great goggles.

As a small brand it's really difficult to purchase molds outright, even for your own designs the costs are just prohibitive. We HOPE this won't be a problem for us in the future, it's just one of those things when you are still small! We've been working on our own design for 2 years. There's a reason we've raised 4 times more than any other goggle company on Kickstarter in just 2 weeks. We don't cut corners, we put the work in and will only launch a product when we're 100% happy with it. We rode in a near-production ready pair for all of last season to confirm this, and we are really stoked to share it with all of you.

@nick_a: Sure, we're not the first to do custom, but we are the first to sell all parts separately. Bored of your current frame colour? No problem, just buy a new frame and use your existing lenses and straps - at NO price premium.

Fair enough. With Oakleys you can do custom, but like you said there's no way to get different parts after the fact other than b/s/t here. I just don't like the whole "we're the first customizable goggle" scheme when it should be "we're the first one to sell separate parts to customize the goggles"

Still look like dope goggles, either way. Might have to get some, as I've been wanting some new gogs this year

Just an idea for when you launch online but it would be really cool if the customer is able to choose the lense colour and spare lense colour, it frustrates me to no end when you find the perfect frame/strap/primary lense combo but the secondary lense colour isn't an optional choice.
