Fullface helmet

I broke my jaw this past summer so this winter i need to wear a full face. Are their any other helmets besides the giro mad max, and does the full face effect your visibility alot.

there pretty good as far as visuals go, i have never used one while skiing but i treid on my buddies, and it seems like any other helmet.

And there are others than the giro.

Pro Tec makes one, and if you want to go real badass, there's the one the Seth wears (i can't remeber the name) but someone like iggyskier, seanpistol, or Vicious would know. Im having a brain fart.

yeah, the Troy Lee ones are sick.

I had a Boeri Big Mountain Fullface a few years ago. It was really too much to wear everyday. Protection was great, but it was too hot and heavy to really wear comfortably.

I've thought about getting the Giro Flint SC. I actually got one, but the size was wrong and they were out of my correct size, so never got to use it.

But, as far as any everyday fullface a lot fo people love it. Good venting, fullface is removable, light, and protection is still good.

Im pretty sure there are (or were) a bunch of Flint SC on ebay. For an everyday helmet that is where I would look.

If you want serious protection, though, the Troy lee or the Mad max are probably the best.

I have the Pro-tec Ace from 2 03/04, got it for like $33 on backcountry last season. It it a prettty nice helmet. This year they have the Ace of Spades in a matte "army" green.

yea, iv been lookin into the flint SC for awhile now. i need alot of new stuff. new jacket, new gloves, a helmet. damn, this must be my spending year.

i wear troy lee for downhill and motocross. they make the best fitting helmets in my opinion and their downhill helmets are durable and light if you get the carbon one.

The current boeri fullface (The BX) vents pretty well, same functional shell as the steez with some added foam. Same vent tracks and everything though so its alot better than some of the previous models.

Id definately recomend the BX to anyone, troy lees are good too.

get a motocross helmet chances are it will be cheaper then a ski/sb/mountainbike specific helmet it will have decent venting since its mad for summer, and some of them will have room for headphones comfortably.

MX helmets are great, but they can cause extra strain on your neck vs. a lighter weight downhill helmet.
