Full tilts in a 26?

This past year i rode a pair of 26.5 dalbello krypton rampages from last year and at the start of the season they were great but as they packed out I had to step up to thicker socks. As the season wore on my boots kept feeling looser. I bought some new insoles and again they were great. Eventually as time past they started to feel loose again and after a day of corks 7s shinbang had hit. I picked up a pair of what seemed to be foam shinguards meant for ski boots and once again my boots were great. After another month of riding with them im up riding with two pairs of socks, shins inserts, and sole inserts and they still feel loose. Its not around the lower foot or around the shin but around the ankle on the middle stap that feels loose on its tightest setting. I still have room to tighten both the lowest and highest buckle but with the middle setting as tight as it goes it feels loose. I was looking at a pair of full tilt booters but the only pair in ontario that I can find now are 25.5s and my toes were hitting the end just standing there. If i buy a pair of 25.5 I'm gonna have bruised toes. If i buy a pair of 26.5s am I gonna end up with the same issue as I have now? Is there size 26 in between? Can I go with a 26.5 shell and a 25.5 insert? any suggestions? :)

no shops around here that have any in stock and i was looking for a pair for this spring so i can enjoy my backyard setup

1. nice cork 7 claim.

2. a smaller liner in a bigger shell (25.5 liner with 26.5 shell for example) won't work correctly. you can't just stuff some newspaper in the toe and expect the same flex patterns and boot performance. in fact you would probably hate those boots more than your current ones.

If you are in the right size boot (uncooked, with no supportive footbed) your toes should be touching the front of the boot when you are standing upright- the boot is only going to get bigger, just as you found out. It totally sounds like the boot you own is a size too big. I agree with Rowen, but you might not be able to get to a competent shop that specializes in boot-fitting. But you also aren't going to get anything but suggestions and probable solutions here because we can't see your foot...

The liner in the Booter is nothing to write home about, especially if you are currently having trouble securing your ankle. There are special pads that a boot-fitter can make that would help secure the area in your current boot a bit better, but if you are actually in a boot that is too big, nothing is going to work well. I would save your cash and spring for a set of Hot Doggers next year so you can get the better liner.

get 25.5s. the toe can be stretched easily. getting a smaller liner won't help, you need a smaller shell as well.

I was just about to type about the how your boot is to big till i saw this post

If you live in Toronto or Southern Ontario i would suggest coming to skiis and biikes in mississauga or collingwood. Try and book an appointment with one of the boot fitters and explain them your situation and they put you in the best boot for your foot and skiing that we carry.
