Full Tilts and Custom Footbeds?

To anybody who's riding in full tilts, what is your experience with custom footbeds in them? I'm coming from Lange Banshee Pros and have had custom footbeds in all my boots for the past 11 years. I baked my liners and molded them without using footbeds last night, since I don't see a way to actually get the footbeds to sit flat on the bottom of the liner, unless you actually put them under the liner. OneNerdyKid, i know you've got answers for this... help me out here!

I had Sole footbeds in my Booters last season, they just slipped into the liner and my foot sat on top of them. Maybe you need to trim the footbed slightly to make it fit the liner?

Have you tried putting them in with your foot out of the liner?

This winter I've got the thicker liners from Hot Doggers in and there isn't room for the footbed. When the liner packs out I'll put them in though.

Full Tilt Intuition Liners + Custom Molded Foot Beds = AMAZING

The reason they don't fit flat is because you need to mold them into the liner as well (unless they need to be trimmed slightly before being put in).

ok, i guess i probably wasnt very clear in my initial post. obviously i'd mold the liners with the footbeds in, that's how you'd work with any heat moldable liner. my concern is that the bottom of the liner isn't a few millimeters thick and flat like regular liners, it's also heat moldable. so does the mold of the bottom of your foot in the liner provide enough support while skiing? i pronate pretty badly and have very flexible feet/ankles, so i usually end up getting pressure on my inner ankle if i don't have footbeds, but i didn't notice that with the intuition liners. how are you posting your footbeds? when you say custom molded, i'm assuming you mean the Conformable ones, or something similar? posting seems like it would just take up more space in the boot due to the thickness of the bottom of the liner.
fyi, i've been fitting boots for a good long while, this is just my first real experience working with intuition liners and the best way to tweak them; my shop didn't carry them in the past.

I always put a footbed of some sort in the bottom of my Full Tilt Liners, while the bottom of the liner is nice, it's really not enough, especially if you tend to pronate a lot. I used to have the actual like mold to your foot footbeds, they got eaten by a dog and I didn't have enough money for a new pair so I got some "Superfeet" ones (the green ones) and molded them with those. Both fit into the liner just fine cause they sunk into the bottom, and I'm pretty sure there is a removable bottom to the liner that you can remove if you need to (I've never needed to, so I'm not positive).

THIS!
I just got custom footbeds in my full tilts and now the boot literally fits like a glove...even my toes fit nicer. I trusted the bootfitter and it's amazing how much arch support was necessary. The footbed does just slip right it, includes a reinforced heel part, and fits snug. The arch isn't meant to lie flat obviously, that would ruin the idea.

there are a couple of options for you. First off, there's never one "always right way" to put a footbed into an Intuition liner. I've molded Wallisch's FTs with the footbed under the liner which worked super well and I've molded other people's liners with the footbed inside the liner. Point is, whatever works best for you is what works. Depends on your foot and the type of footbed you are using.

For 11/12, I have designed a new Intuition liner with Atomic that features a strobel lasted hard bottom (think normal alpine liner) that doesn't have 8mm of foam under your foot. This will allow you to put any footbed you want inside the liner directly under your foot without it shifting and moving as you ski. They will be available as aftermarket liners, as well as stock in the Tracker 130. So, if all else fails, these aftermarket liners might be the solution for you.

Old thread bump, but hey at least I know how to use the search bar. Anyways, I got a new pair of full tilts for this season and i haven't ski'd in them yet. I have custom insoles from my old boots that i can use but my question is this: do you need insoles in full tilts? I noticed that when I went to put the insoles in them there weren't insoles in them. Anybody have any advice/experience?

You should always have a footbed in a boot no matter what brand.

The best way I have found to mold a footbed into a intuition is to put the footbed under the sock. So you sit the foot on the footbed then put a ski sock over both holding the footbed to te foot. You then want to add the toe cap and put your foot into the liner. Having the footbed as one with the foot helps ensure a good mold. As one nerdy said there are various ways of doing it only one I don't suggest is putting the footbed under the liner. That will not be effective at all.

Just realizing this, and been skiing without a foot bed in my full tilt's drop kicks from last season (orange, black and white ones)

can i remold them with a food bed?

And something else: will a pro liner from FT help with ankle support? They tend to hurt after a while because i tend to tightening them almost full.

The liner may not help much but the footbed certainly will. It sounds like the boots are a bit big but you can help this by getting footbeds which will stop your feet pronating and moving inside. They will help with the ankle alot as I imagine your pronating at the moment. And yes you can remould your liners with footbeds.

this might be a big game changer for me. I guess so. Just thought the J-bar in the pro liner would help keeping my ankles down, but i'll try the footbeds first! Thanks!
