From my experience the polyurethane footboard in full tilts help a bit when you come up short on a jump or anytime landing flat, but I found custom footbeds with the plastic footboard is the best combination. The biggest difference I noticed though is it feels quite different than a typical plastic footboard when it comes to "boot to ski" feel. I can only compare it to skateboarding wearing vans vs. shoes with a big chunky sole. You can feel the board better with Vans, same as with the plastic footboard, I can feel my skis better which personally helps me with edge control on rails.
