Full Tilt Questions

I have some salomon spk's right now and they are really great and comfortable, a little wide though. So I'm really looking into a nice flexy boot. Such as the full tilt booter. Seems flexy.

I get shinbang very easily. I had a crash this past season and the doctor says i can ski but my shins may hurt if i land weird, backseat or wrong.

So would the full tilt booters be my best option for flex wise. I really need flex boots, badly or every fall will be painful and ruin my day.

Thanks for all the help.

Go to a boot fitter and see how full tilts fit, they might be too narrow...

Booters will be incredibly soft. I have konflicts and the are too soft for me.

How much do you weight?

what did you think of the spks flex?

im planning on using a 9 tongue on the FTs this years and the 6 tongue for park. the booters come with the 2 flex which should be ridiculous.

It didn't feel that great for me, and it felt like i could go with way way more flex.

I was looking at the specs and all of them are 4, 6 or 8 in flex then i look at booter and its 2. Looks crazy, it may just be what i need though. i neeeeeeed flex.

i think youll be good man. i went from kyrpton pros to full tilt model a's and was fine

full tilt is the shit, easily upgradeable, you can get any flex on any boot, just by swapping the tongues, and they are the best flex i've ever tried. i got zero shin bang last season. go full tilt!

i just bought a pair, fitted em and shit but havent actually rode them

full tilts a sick choice though cuz if you find that the 2 is way too flexy you can just bump up to a 4 or wutever until you find something that works for you

ive got flippers wearin a 29.5, so they didnt have the right size extra tongues to put on, but the guy was saying i could get some easy or theyd swap or something, only bad part is you have to go through a dealer to get them and theyre like 30 bucks i think for an extra?

From memory there is 8mm difference in the width of those boots. Unless you were floating in the SPKs, the FTs are the wrong boot.

If you fit a Krypton, then FT's would most likely be compatible, SPK - helllllll no.

You already made one mistake with the SPKs so why guess again? Find a good shop, get better boots, save money in the long run. End of sotry.

Bump,

Why isn't their any dealers in oregon?

Item on fulltiltboots.com says avalible to buy august 15th, it's august 18th whats up?

noone within 4 hours of me has fulltilts, so does anyone know the answer to this question? id love to go try on a million pairs, but i just can't do that.

Is it better to have a soft boot on a soft ski or a hard boot on a soft ski? (talking about the flex)

Full Tilts go by shoe size, not mondo size. Find a chart and compare your current boots.

Full Tilts Shell Lengths-

29/29.5 - 326 mm

28/28.5 im not sure i will assume about 318 or 319 mm

27/27.5 - 310 mm

26/26.5 - 301 mm

so would 25.5/25 be 292mm? that's so short, my spks are 297mm. if i have racestock binders set up to 297mm and i start wearing 292mm boots, will it make any difference? the bails are already all the way down unfortunately...

the dalbello krypton's are flexy, i have a pair of them, i've never gotten close to having shin bang but i do jam my toes a lot if i lean back, there the right size for me but i still do. they are narrow too, just a thought tho ha go with what ya feel

I just found out that al's ski barn will take returns until you get the right size for your full tilt's.

If they end up being to small all around you can return them.

tilts are kinda tight, mind you i went down 1/2 a size when i got em cause it was the last pair and i got them half off, but compared to the spks which i know fit like shoeboxes i might go up to 27 or 27.5, especially if youre still growing, but talk to someone from where youre ordering who knows, or send FT an email explaining your sitch and they might be able to have you talk to the rep for your area

oh and i didnt find them terribly narrow, unless your feet are pontoons they will fit, plus it molds to your foot more than a traditional buckle boot

On the scale i posted up earlier my size for full tilt would be 27.5

If i order online i can always return to get a different size or turn it back for good.

Most of the sites stay in the 10's with boot sizes. So if I'm 27.5 Full tilt and convert it into the 10's what would that be? Does anybody know at all who has full tilts

Thanks,

Jake Reilly

You do realize that you are going from one end of the spectrum to the other switching from SPK's to Full Tilts? There is a HUGE difference in the fit of these 2 boots. And Simon said up several posts, there is about 8mm of difference in last, which is a pretty good amount.

IMO, dont get them with out trying them on. Even if you do think they fit when you get them, you may be completely wrong. I was in the same boat with Rampages, and i am now on Flexon's instead. And that right there isn't even that big of a jump in last size.

You will be in HELL if you think they fit and they dont. I know there may not be many places around you that carry FT, but it would be worth your time to make a few hour drive to the nearest shop that does. Call ahead, make sure that a Bootfitter will be in, and drive there. It will be worth your time and money.

ok, another qwestion, I have a pair of 26.5 kryptons rampage and the shell is 309 mm, if I go with a full tilts then the right size would be the 27.5 right? cause the shell is 310 mm

Im looking for new boots becuase
1. I can't handle spk's
2. I need new boots, well i don't need but i would like them
3. My foot is to skinny for spk's

I am not saying to not get to new boots, i am just saying that an 8mm difference in Last is HUGE. You may think you are swimming in them, but it may not necessarily constitute that narrow of boots.

Go to a bootfitter, it is worth the drive

if you have a beefy foot full tilt is not for you but i tried on a pair last week and it was the most comfortable boot i have ever had the pleasure of putting on my feet

I am the Full Tilt rep for CA/AZ/NV and the team manager for Porters I just want to throw that out there to avoid getting called out on being biased.

That being said, the best thing you can do for your ski boots fit is to visit an experienced boot fitter. Even if they don't carry Full Tilt, if your bootfitter has been at it for years, they are going to know how the flexon (what FTs are based on) fits. If nothing else, they will be able to tell you what size boot you should be in, and how much volume there is to your foot. In my experience, FTs fit well for anyone with a medium width volume or below. The booter is the widest feeling model because it has the thinest softest liner. At least go into a shop, be up front with a bootfitter that you want to order that boot online, and get your foot fitted. It will give the shop an incentive to carry the brands you want in the future.

As far as flex goes, the booter is pretty soft. What type of flex you ski is completely and utterly your personal preference. I have never, ever had shin bang since going to the Full Tilts and I suffered from it so badly for years and years beforehand. There is a great video of Seth talking about why he doesn't get shin bang because of the way the boot is designed here. I also worked with Porters to make a bunch of videos about FT for their website. One helping you figure out which is right for you is here. There should be others up soon.

Let me know if this helps at all, and feel free to ask any FT questions here or pm me.
