Full Tilt Hot Dogger VS Salomon SPK ?

Ok so I own a pair of doggers. Rode them only one season. Everysingle time, the inner part of the boot (the shell) where the screws are would dig into the liner and make my feet hurt like hell. I thought maybe it was just a fabrication default, but ALL the screws (more like dollar sized metal washer) from the buckles stick out on the inside, and on BOTH boots?! Are my feet just too wide for these boots? Yes, I kinda have wide feet, a little. OR maybe I was stupid enough to get a boot too small for me I dont know and im pissed.

From my regular feet pain complaints, my friends all joke and say ''ah you should of got them SPK's''. Well, are they really that better?

HotDogger: SPK:

-Flexible - Stiff(er)

-Lightweight - Heavier than doggers (but average in normal boot weight)

-Wrap around liner (very warm) - Classic liner with (fake) fur

-No beer bottle opener, won't get me laid - Has a beer bottle opener, will get me laid

I dont know what else to add, but basically I just want to know if I really should have gone with the spk's. I feel as if my skiing season was ruined from continuous feet pain. I had very high expectations for the hot doggers but they didnt do it for me.

Ps. I cant find the receipt. IM STILL LOOKING OKAY.

Full tilts tend to be on the narrow side, and you've already stated you have wide feet. You really need to just go and see a boot fitter. It's all well asking for advice online, but there's only so much you can do without taking a look at the foot in question.

Yeah defiantly go get fitted, everyone thinks the SPK is huge, but it has a relatively low instep, so larger volume feet not just wide, often struggle in the shell. The atomic overlord fits much higher in the instep but has many of the same features as the spk, so its not always a case of wide feet spk.

I just got some of the SPk 100's and they are fitting tight. It was tight on my instep and sides of the mid part of my foot. I swapped the liners and footbeds, and there fitting perfectly, but it was not just a case of getting the correct fit out of the box.

SPK is a wider boot. All of the FT's have a 99mm last except for the Booter I believe which shares the same last as the SPK at 102mm. I'd have to double check but it's close enough. So it's not surprising that the FT's don't fit if you have a wider foot.

I really enjoy my SPKs took some tinkering with to get them to fit right but they are amazing, if you have a wider foot.

I will definetaly check with a boot fitter. When I bought the full tilts it was a ''warehouse sale'' filled with tons people and quick sales. They had one pair left, the guy just did a basic boot fit but I took them anyway. Well I learned from that mistake, no more quick sales for me, espesially not for ski boots urgh. Skiing season is over for me, today was my last day; so I have lots of time to check some boots out and look out for sales untill next season. Hopefully maybe they will carry a pair of spk's that fit me on that same warehouse sale I went to for the doggers. Anyway thanks for the tips!

Go get fitted man, that sucks that your FT's gave you that pain! But an improperly fitted SPK will give you some nasty shinbang.
