So the strap on my boot is missing the little square metal piece that you loop back through. This isn't my picture but to give you an idea of what I'm talking about:

anyways i need a fix for it for cheap. Any ideas? I bent a thin metal rod to fit it and when i really pulled down it just bent out of shape. Could a shop help me any?

I guess its rectangular, not square. But i kinda want to avoid buying new straps altogether because they still work well besides the one piece missing on one of them. +K for legit answers too!

check a thrift shop for old ski boots and find a similar part. you could bend your own i guess but its not really worth it

DDamn. Well okay how much are they? In the ballpark of $20? And do they work better or worse than the ones they come with

They work much much better than a power strap that any boot comes with. The part that goes over the tongue is a tight elastic so it stretches when you push forward whereas a normal strap just stops forward movement. They are about $20-$35 depending which size you get. How much do you weigh and how tall are you?
