Full Tilt all mountain/free ride boot VS. Salomon SPK Pro Model

I'm looking into buying a new pair of boots for this coming 2010-2011 season and I have narrowed it down to either a pair of Full Tilts or the Salomons SPK Pro modle. I am an advanced skier and probably do about 60% park and 40% all mountain skiing so I'm really looking into a light weight boot that can absorbed the shock when landing of jumps and hitting the rails. I also want it to be comfortable for just general skiing as well. I am leaning towards the SPK's but looking for opinions from people that have either of these boots. Also any other suggestions for boots are welcome.

you are definitely a fucking noob because the boots you've "narrowed it down to" aren't similar in any way relating to fit.

Of coarse they both are going to be different in fit. The SPK is stiffer boot with neoprene lining and a neoprene toe box with the two buckle system and adjustable support in the back where as the Full Tilt boot is crazy soft and flexes more and has a tight fit and costume fit liner and uses the old cable strap system. If you learn how to re re re read, I am asking for people that have either how they feel riding. I didn't know a noob know a days meant someone who has been skiing before you were probably even born and worked at ski shop and resort is classified as a "noob." You should try looking in the mirror kid if you want to see a real noob, or a douche. Either one though, doesn't really matter but you can pick. Next time you post something, post something with validity and be helpful to other skiers. Now you can go finish watching your cartoons and don't forget to do your homework kid.

because i know you are clearly too stupid to know what this means i will explain it to you. it means that the boots both fit very differently and with some serious liner/shell work there is no way you would fit in to both of them correctly.

so this now brings me to my second (and previously established) point, GO TO A BOOT FITTER YOU DUMB CUNT.

 
SPK Pro can be softer than a FT, and is probably the same actual stiffness as the Wallisch. You can put stiffer tongues on the FT to make it just about as stiff as a WC race boot. The #10 tongue on my old Seths made for a way stiffer boot than either my Salomon or Nordica race boots.

You should really learn to pay attention and re re re read like I said before, but I guess you did get me cause someone like myself who worked at a ski shop of coarse would not know what you meant. You just totally blew me away with that info.... not really. See, was that so hard to actually post something worth being valid. Now someone who is curious about the boot will know something but like I said before, how do they feel when riding. Only a person who has them will know the ins and outs of the boots feel and thats what I'm looking for. So unless you have a pair of either and can actually say how they are, you should stop posting, move on, and go finish your milk and cookies.
 
What Big_Spence is trying to say is it shouldn't matter how they feel to you at this moment. The boots you're looking at have very different lasts, like Big_Spence said. So he wants you to go to a bootfitter, find which one fits you best, and then ask about that specific boot. It won't matter how it rides if the boot is too big for you.
 
guess what OP? i've actually owned a pair of SPK Pros and now i'm currently riding some FT Konflicts.

i hated my SPKS to death. they raped my feet every time i had to put them on. shinbang, black and blue toenails, the whole nine yards. this all after i had my SPK's "molded". (another helpful bit of info, the SPK liner is only semi-moldable vs. the intuition liners which are fully moldable.)

since then i bought a pair of FT, had them molded, and my feet have never felt better. but the person that i sold my old boots to tells me the same thing, they fit him absolutely perfect.

point is, everyone's foot is different. we can't give you advice without getting a fucking foot transplant.

p.s-anyone who thinks i'm too harsh in GT, you can go fuck yourselves too.
 
OP you fucking idiot, what Big_spence is saying is that you can't just decide what boot you want, you have to try on a bunch of boots and get whatever one fits the best. It doesn't matter how each one performs if it doesn't fit you.
 
See Little-Spence was that so hard. Work on your play nice skills next time and maybe just maybe you will be looked at as a respectable human being.

And quite clearly, you don't know anything. SPKs and Full Tilts are way different, the people told you that, listen to them, take it all in, and don't respond. We're the ones just following trends? You're asking about buying the two most popular park ski boots just because they're the two most popular park ski boots. You have no idea which one will fit you, yet you still think they could both be right for you. Please leave.
 
Dude you are a complete idiot. But since you're being such a whiny douche here's my genuine reply to your initial question based form experience.

Full Tilts are pretty nice, they hold your foot nice and tight. SPKs are horrible, they are way too wide and result in a major lack on control over your skis. Other boots I'd recommend? Try Nordica, Salomon, Technica, Dalbello, Atomic, Fischer or Head.

OP, this is the single most posted question on NS. It has been covered thousands of times. There is a search bar in the top right corner. Spencer is 100 % right. The chance of both boots fitting properly is extremely small. I would say almost impossible. Custom boot work can be done, but why bother when you can get something better out of the box. You may think people are overreacting, but you have no idea how often this is asked.

Do yourself a favour:

-Read the sticky on boots at the top to become better educated.

-Go to a boot fitter

-Ski in the boot they select for you, not one that you select based on a particular companies (effective)marketing strategy.
