Full circle carves

I've gotten a couple decent ones on the few open / fast enough midwest & east coast hills. Found it easiest on fresh cord, snow conditions play a factor as the snow has to hold while you're laying a turn that low & fast.

not necessarily doubting but ive never seen anyone come close to doing a real one on skis, video would be cool if anybody has one?

get yourself some slalom skis and learn to use them properly and you'll find it easy enough. think theirs a insta video of Ligety doing one on a pair of GS skis so on SL skis should be easy.

snowboarders does them all the time. it looks super fun, but i think that it wont be as cool on skis as you can't lay down as much.

I will admit the last 3/4 of the turn finished out quite slow as you lose so much speed in the carve. But I do have full confidence in the fact that I have done them. Super fun laying bows down on the steep grade in those low carves, it’s like riding a wave

Hard to do without smearing out and sliding downhill but fun stuff.

This. Had one hell of a crash last season nuking into an attempt last season in loose corn snow, it gave out & folded me over my right knee. It sucked

was that last season?

Done a ton of them....done one on that same run too! Shits fun. Just got to haul ass and have a decent edge it's really not hard.

Ted Ligety had one on his insta a while back. Got a few myself this season, found the best way to get them is to go down something steepish, groomer is fine, then once you hit a pretty flat area go for it. I found if you try go up a blue or steeper slope you lose too much speed through the uphill section and have to try smear it round more. Snowboard in this one definitely waits for the flatter section too.

If Ligety can just barely muscle one around, no offense to him that was massively impressive, I have a hard time believing youve "done a ton" and theyre easy for you, especially on twins.

I get all the chest puffing that goes on around here but there isnt a chance that you can get anywhere close to that, your tails will wash every time. Honestly no skiier here is gonna be able to touch what Jeremy did up at the top of this thread which is where the real comparison is. Just one of those things.

I've never owned a ski with enough sidecut to do it. It doesn't count if you wash the turn or step and run out of speed to finish it.

If you've ever seen a snowboarder do a good one they are literally on rail the entire time and there is a clean track left behind it's pretty sweet.

Didn't realize I was held to this high of a standard hahahaha......yeah most of them I sluffed out on and stuff....only ever gotten one or 2 around fully engaged on edge. First one blew my mind. I didnt realize NS was being compared to the boy Jones. I was saying i could turn in a circle sorry for the communication error i guess. Day after that Jeremy video came out we went right under Shirley lake where the video was taken and started trying them for a solid half day.....so much fun to dick around with.
