Fujatives, Public Enemies or Line Anthems?

I ski west coast skiing, about 25% park, 50% groomers and 25% powder and off piste stuff. I want to be able to do good in park, but I really want a ski thats going to be good in all mountain riding. I want it to be able to ride powder when there is powder, be able to handle chops when there is chops and I want it to be durable and still look fly. Which one of these three would be the best for an intermediate skier skiing just about everything?

By the way I might also like to add that I am 5'11 and 130 pounds. I am an intermediate skier but am worried that the anthems might be to wide and big for me to handle as a first ski.

thats a negatory capitan. 5'11? id say 171's. they shouldnt be too big. im 6'3 and ride 178's.

So you guys think that a fairly good beginner skier could handle these skis? I also heard that the center mountedness is hard to turn and control, is this true?

while we're talking about anthem sizes, i plan to get htem for next season, im 5'1 98 lbs still growing and intermediate skier, what size should i go with?

I'd say the anthems, i have Fujs and they're a super dope ski, but I defs woulda gone with the anthems if i had another 100$ in my budget this season. Those with the white scratch bindings look ill!

anyways, the 85 waist isnt bothering me at all (I'm 5'2 and 125lbs btw) and I think I'm about the same skill level as you, an honestly, i dont think ther'es anione on newschoolers whos a total newbie pizza style beginner so ya id go with the anthems. They'll float you fine and the graphics are sick too. srry for the rant but buy the anthems, and if u dont like them, you can always give 'em to me!!

Since these are your first, you will really be adapting to the ski. Symmetrical skis or center mounting can't really "hold you back" if you're starting at zero, so I say just get the ones you like best and trust that you will adapt to them quickly. Anthems aren't too wide for you, espcially on the west coast. Since you ride so much out of the park though, I might suggest something a little more directional but still the same width like Line Blends or Chronics (pretty similar to the PE which you listed).

Avoid the Fuji because it'll probably be too soft for you outside the park.

what?!?! as if the anthems would be any stiffer?....theyre freakin bars of butter strapped to each foot.

I'd highly recommend the PEs. They can def handle the pow, they rip the groomers, and can hold their own in the park...im 5 9 and 150 - rockin 179s...they float over anything i throw at them...Id think you'd be completely ok with 174s...you'll get used to them....anything smaller and they'll fell a little unstable when you're rippin high speed through some chop...i think you'd eventually regret anything smaller...

definetly anthems much better ski i hated my pe's and i rode some fujatives once and were pretty sick but anthems are way fun every were

Do you guys really think Anthems would be good for him considering he only skis 25% park? I have Fujatives and they are way too soft outside of the park; Anthems are just as soft I think. I'd think the PE's would be a better choice for the variety he skis.

Maybe at 130lbs. the Anthems would be fine, I don't know?

none of those are really a good choice but id have to say anthems would be the best

Pes are to stiff and stupid...my opinoin

Fungitives are to soft

Anthems are fairly soft 2 but they have the width to make up for it

How much stiffer are the Anthems than the Fujatives? They just seem like they'd be too wide to be fun in the park, but I've never riding them so...

oh for gods sake, read my review people, especially if you have never ridden this ski before and are just saying things that you have heard. and to the guy that said line is a newb company and their skis are junk, you are the definition of a fool.

personally i would prefer a wider ski for park, because you get more stability on rails and landings, they just are probably not as good in pipe.

don't totally discount the pes, for a first ski they're probably a bit more what you're used to with rentals cause they're that much stiffer. they are a pretty sweet ski for all mountain if you're not jibbing. that and they can take a fair beating as well. i'm probably going to go for anthems myself for my next ski but thats after pes and scratches

lets just say i wouldnt totally toss out the pe's but i would drop the fujis.

the funny thing about the anthem is that while the flex on it is super soft feeling, a lot of that is the butter zones. it doesnt ski as soft as you think because of a strong torsional flex (twisting) which helps edge hold while turning (altho u wont need that as much out west, unlike us ice coasters). out of all the skis ive skied over the last two years (which is a lot) anthems are my favorite

Anthems are the way to go. Also, with center mount, go a good deal longer than usual. I'm 5'6" 120, and had the hardest time deciding between 161 and 171. I got the 171, and can't imagine that I even considered going any smaller, they feel perfect. The ONLY time I regret the extra length is pulling tight turns through shitty east coast woods. Also, they won't ski as soft as some people might make it sound. For someone pretty light like me, the 171's really don't feel all that soft, although I realize a lot of that's just because of my size.

I'm about 5'9" (176cm) I think I'd be going for the 178s. if you mount at center you're effectively skiing on a shorter ski cause theres less out the front (I know your stance changes aswell but its still relevant)

I should be sweet with a 178 ae?

also does anyone know how the flex compares with the k2 seths?

you should read it, good review.

If people would go to the reviews before posting a thread wondering what skis to buy, I have a feeling it would clean this forum up quite a bit.
