read what im typing. backside. not backslide. backside is when you get on from the side of the rail and your facing away from the rail. frontside is when you jump on from the side facing the rail. i know it sounds confusing to all you skiers who want to be like snowboarders...

 
does anyone know if the fugatives are in stores? cause i wanna pick up a pair when i go to NH tomarrow but it would be hard to find them if they arent being sold yet...

Mark311 - There is no backside or frontside in skiing. Skiers face down hill, so there is neither. It is a lipslide so stop being a hypocrite.

it doesnt matter what way your going on the hill, its all relative to the way youre hitting the rail. the frontside/backside can only apply when you hit a rail from the side, yes, but i still dont see why it doesnt work. also, how am i a hypocrate?

 
Maybe the part about how some people use snowboarding/skateboarding terms. Front/back side is pretty much those sports. Whatever, if your happy calling them Frontside/backside. I'm done

yo Mark... Um Backside and frontside are snowboarding terms too. Just like how lipslide is a snowboarding term. Skiing has no original names in it, (except for natural and unnatural) they all came from snowboarding and skating, dont go agro, just deal with it. And yes that was a backside 270 lipslide. I think though that backside and frontside are only relative in terms with railsliding, because thats the only time when you are perpendicular to the hill, like snowboarders. Off any other feature, IE. jumps and cliffs, spinnging different directions is known as natural and unnatural, because you are parrallel with the hill, so you can not differentiate between a frontside and backside spin.

we should rename some of our tricks....nothing against snowboarding or anything but i think it should be blind instead of switch or fakie. all the other ones we stole should be changed as well

sorry, but it just bugs me that we are trying to be different from snowboarding, but at the same time we have pros trying to ride like snowboarders and using their names and stuff. but yeah, i know that these terms exist, but only in conjunction with other terms. not frontside lipslide or something, just frontside. sorry i got everyone in a fuss. ill do my thing, you do yours.
