Fujatives...$299...?

The ski shop at the place i ski has fujatives marked down to 299. I have skis that i like pretty good, and i would like a little longer then 169... but should i get them? it seems like i shouldnt pass this up

if you want to get them get them but don't grab them without thinking about it because the price is low, keeping it affordible was one of the goals in designing the fujative and I'm pretty sure they will always be that price.

$299 isn't THAT much off.... infact, I think most stores I've sen have them at that price... oh ya, they're made to be inexpensive...

I found that people LIKE to spend alot of money on things. It somehow makes them feel like what they bought was 'better'. This applies to every aspect of consumerism, why else would so many girls drop a few g's on a Luey Vuitton bag? You are just talking out of your ass, just because they arent over priced doenst mean they are crap. I bet tomorrow you will be bitching about how expensive skis are.

yeah, they clearly didnt use the best most expensive materials.. But look at it this way:

K2 has a reputation to withhold. They arent going to go out and make some piece of crap because let me tell you, word would get around.. I would expect them to be a pretty good ski despite the cheap price. Clearly the materials will be less expensive and it wont hold up as good as a Seth Pistol. But, im sure you will still get a quality ski.

yeah seriously I'm surprised you guys have so little damn faith, K2 is trying to do something admirable here (i.e. make a dope ski that people can actually afford) but all that aside do you really think they're going to risk giving arguably their best/highest profile rider (I'm sure I just pissed off a lot of Morrison fans) a pro-model that sucks?

Yeah i saw them today at a local shop today in CT... they look pretty sweet... the tips and tails are wicked flex as spoken for... sidewalls look a little cheesy, but for the price, a good jib ski if they hold up

i woudl just be a little more carefulp on them, that way you odnt break them, i did hear the bad side of it but i dont rememebr somehtign abotu not using a durable material in some part of it but i dont rememebr what it was, if anyone remembers they should say.

 
i went and flexed it today at the shop and it didnt seem special or anything and the guy there just said it was a cheap version of the PE and thats even what k2 said i dunno if thats right but thats what he siad

 
i'm not sure where I heard this, but I heard they're cheap because due to their soft flex, they will wear out more quickly, so they're cheaper to make it less of a big deal to buy some new ones.

I break just about anything, whether it's expensive or cheap. Honestly, I think most of the tricks I pull on/off rails, and over tabletops I could likely do just as well with any ski as long as I have twin tips, so cheap is good.

 
when i had bad cheap skis they were fine and they broke a lot slower then my new beauties, but those skis r dead now. but for a qaurter of the price

 
yea i work at a shop and i need some new skis and we have them so i might get them, but they id also want an all mountain twini, but if i got the fujatives and the PEs id be set, or i could get the seth pistols just because they are so sick

Think what you want. I've absolutely beaten this issue to death. The Fujative is nothing close to a cheap Public Enemy, your shop guy is retarded, it isn't made with shitty materials to make it cheap, K2 actually makes less than on a Fujative than on a pair of PEs, and it won't 'wear out quicker' because it has a softer flex. Try it out, you might really like it, you might hate. It's all good. Only that way, you can make an educated deduction of its performance rather than meare speculation.

haha yah most of the time people flex them on the ground anyways, witch just shows u flex of hte tip not the actual body of the ski

No one gets it. K2 is diong something smart and good for the industry. You see not everybody can afford 500 dollar skis a 200 dollar coat, 150 dollar pants a 100 dollar helmet 100 dollar goggles 300 dollar boots 50 dollar poles, 100 dolar bindings, a 350 dollar seasons pass and gass money. So K2 still kept there same materials as a 500 dollar ski which really cost them 100 dollars to make. So they made there skis cost less for the industry and also they would sell more ( which is obviously working today). So you see they just have a different perspective for selling things.

I paid 500$ for my enemies and they fell apart about a week after th warranty was up. K2 wouldn't warranty them because they had a core shot in the middle of one of the skis. K2 is poor quality.

i think the fujatives were designed to break after a while, that is one reason they were made cheap, the other reason is because so many of them were made

today i skied my pe's and fujatives back to back...i personally think the fujatives are way better at everything (including all mountain) than the public enemy...they don't feel cheap at all and you guys just need to try them before you hate on them

It is also unfortunate that you actually won't see Pep skiing on much of anything in the near future. He is out for a bit, getting himself healthy and strong again. And seriously dude, why would Pep have his pro model he wouldn't want to ski on? I'm over it, these threads become so repititious. One person actually tried the skis and then commented. Novel idea eh?
