fujative mount problem...

ive posted this in a couple other threads, but i thought i should make my own. heres the deal. i asked the shop to mount my fujatives at the 'core center' mark, but little did i know that my skis dont have ANY mounting marks on the sides what so ever. so the shop went ahead and mounted them at ski center. the only problem is that from the front of the binding to the tip of the ski is shorter than the tail of the ski. so i have less tip than tail exposed on the ski. i dont know how much sense that makes. i dont know if you can tell from the picture or not but just take a look. anyway, i was just wondering if this is a big deal or not. ive skied them once and they seemed ok, i just want to know how much the shop screwed me over. any input is great, thanks.

I just think the shop is stupid, i don't think they were intending to be assholes, write k2 a letter or e-mail, they might be able to help. if it is too bad for you to tolerate and you can't get any help, just get them re-mounted(highly not reccomended however)

if the mounting marsk arent tehre then its k2 problem call them tell em whats up they'll help you out.. there should be mounting marks... then see what they say.. or talk to ur shop they migth give u a new pair and they might handle talking to k2

I bet those would look badass when you ride them though... but yeah, the Fujatives, at least accordgin to the official website should have the mounting chart on the sidewall... that's weird and could be considered a manufacturing defect.

dude, that puts you WAAAAAY off the sidecut. you're gonna have a wacky turning radius. i'd bitch at the shop for being stupid. make them buy you new skis.

i didn't come here with pants, and i'm not leaving with pants

Maybe they accidentaly drilled for the toe mark and not the midsole mark, 'cause those are mounted hella foreward

I have a theory that all retards have one long tendon that goes from wrist to wrist, so therefore that is why they always are screwin around with one wrist up, and the other one down.

ya they fucked you good. strange how the fujatives didnt have mounting marks, all K2 factory series are supposed to have them. id talk to K2 about it as well.

btw, why did you center mount big mountain skis?

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day

im going back into the shop tommorow, and since im only 17 im bringing my dad with me, suz the way i figure its easy to say no to a kid, but if my pop is there it will be better, and also, my dad is a lawer with mad debate skills... so that will help.

update on the situation, they are re-mounting them for me, and the guy assured me that there wont be any durability issues cuz hes going to fill the holes with some super secret technique and they gave me coupons for 3 tune jobs for free because of my 'pain and anguish' i tihnk its going to work out fine now

i just talked to the guy and it turns out that 'ski center' is only 1/2 CM forward of where 'core center' is, at least on the 179's. so they arnt remounting them. i guess im stuck with a ski that is pretty far forward, oh well, at least im not rideing them for all mountain.

I wonder why K2 didnt put any mounting marks on the skis?

The frist fifty Fujative 179's left without any midsole or mid core marks. There is no problem, all the shops are calling and getting the right midsole and midcore positions, if you are 7cm forward you are exactly where you initially asked to be. They look mounted corectly to me.

also, i don't think they are mounted over center, like you said. i have those bindings, and i think the toe piece hangs over the mounting screws. it just looks like they're more than center because the toe piece is more horizontal than the heel piece, which is pretty verticle.

they look like a normal center mount to me.....think that the bottom of your heel - not the middle of your foot - is the center point

midsole is at center, and the tip is like 1 inch shorter than the tail is. but i am only 1/2 cm forward of the core center, so its no big problem.

there is no mount pion on all the 179's for some reason. yeah having them remounted was fine it won't hurt them at all

i talked to a guy at my shop and he says that remounting makes the ski stronger. it allows more flex and the stuff they fill the wholes with is pretty strong too.

I'm pretty sure that the ski is stronger with fewer holes in them, but if I'm talking to a customer I tell them that the extra holes are to make them lighter.

he said that he was going to do this thing called 'heeli core' or maybe it was 'maxi drill' i dont know, but he said that it would be stronger than it was originally when he was done with it.

my skis are almost the same but mountes core center and it still looks like i have more tail than tip but they stil are sick in park

they should've been able to determine center mount for you in the first place, they are a shop aren't they. get your money back or beat their asses

I ran three miles yesterday, finally I said 'here lady take your purse'

Dude those skis are gonna rip switch SOOO FAT. Have fun and start 540ing everything... even pow lol. No seriously you can probably switch down fatty all mountain lines on those babies my buddy had his Line Eric Pollards mounted like that and he did all the time... for like two weeks and then they broke off in Sugarbowls ass.

These skis can suck my balls... I had my shop call K2 and they told them the ideal spin position which is +2.5cm. I mounted it there, ripped the heels right out of the skis twice even w/ heli coils. Then, I remounted the skis at +3.5 so I'm way forward, and the skis handle worse, jib better. However, they ripped out of the ski for the 4th time in 10 days. I think these are the cheapest crap pair of skis I ever got that look the coolest, and feel awesome till they break. Anyways, K2 is sending me another pair, does anyone want them? $275 shipped?

^good deal.....wish i needed a pair......really wish i needed a pair

some shops are retarded though, i asked for a center mount on my trouble makers and instead i got a mount like a race ski... im about 5 or 6 cm back from the direct middle of the ski. i was pretty pissed but i guess theyre skiing alright, but on the jumps i can tell a little difference. any suggestions?

take them back to the shop and tell them that you asked for center mount and that they messed up. they should have a record of what you asked for and they should see that they made a mistake and they will fix it for you.
