Fucking window tints

alright so for a while my rents have been saying i could get tints and i had told them that i just wanted 15% everywhere but the front window. soo they agree and i showed them pictures and such then they decide to call the local police station and find out the legal limit is 35% on the rear window and rear side windows and 50% on the front windows. fucking bullshit, they're being gay...how do i convince them to let me get 15%?
 
definitely get what is legal no matter how bad it sucks..you dont want to get anything darker than what is allowed because you'll be asking to get pulled over. btw, what kind of car?
 
ya i would do whats legal. i have 5% on my car and i havnt gotton pulled over yet, but i deff get stared down when i go by the police
 
Well since they probably bought you that car, and it sounds like they are paying for the tint it's their choice.
 
Oh it keeps out the heat on my black car somewhat. Not bad on the eyes eaither.

Yeah i have mine almost blacked out. You can't see in them from 5 feet away at all so i don't know. Never really check what law is here in colorado.
 
i think you could get away with a twenty. i doubt window tints are a first affence. i know a friend that has 2% and never gets pullled over or anything.
 
Thats lame.. I guess. Where I'm from you can apply any tint you want to the rear windows. My truck came the rear windows of the extended cab at like 5%.
 
i have a buddy with 2.5%, can barley see out durning the day.

Most cops arent gonna pull you over on the tints alone. Most dont care unless you are being a dick to them. And 20-25% is a good amount for the fronts, because most SUV/Trucks are tinted that amount from the factory. So that can give a little idea on what it will look like.
 
I don't know what my moms car is but it came with the rears tinted and it looks sexy as hell. I've been thinking of getting my car tinted but I'd rather spend the money on useful things.
 
fck that shit. my shit is way below the legal limit. ive been pulled over at least 10 times. cops havnt said shit about it
 
Get as dark as you want. My friends GTI has 5% on the back windshield, all four regular windows, and He has his windshield tinted, but i dont know the percent. But, he's never been pulled over for tint, and has had no problems. Whenever he gets pulled over, he lowers all four windows.

be thankful you dont live in NY, legal tint is 70% for front and back side windows, back can be anything
 
i've heard horror stories about people using snap tint, so i'd rather have somebody else do it right. and i do live in NY...

really? crap i was thinking about getting it. did they do it right and it got bad or did they screw it up? what % are you going with? im torn between 30 and 20
 
do you guys have to get a warrant of fitness or something for your car? in nz we have to have our car checked over to make sure everythings legal and safe every 6 months. If they're being tint nazis they'll pull out a light meter and test the vlt% of the tints. the shit thing is that nearly all glass is somewhat tinted to start with, so even if you get 35% (max tint in nz) you're gonna be over the limit anyway. the cops don't really care that much about it cause you're gonna get caught getting your warrant
