Fucking tryouts (rant like woah)

so i go to a super intense athletics school and i'm a sophomore this year. last year i was on the thirds soccer team with all the other freshmen, cuz no freshman ever makes JV. i really wanted to make JV this year and busted my ass off over the summer and got better, and then trained with varsity during pre season, who all said i'd have no problem making JV. we had our retarded try outs today... where we got split up into two teams and of course i get the tard team where nobody knows how to pass. the forwards and i got the ball like...twice during the entire game, cause our downer defense would just kick it out every time it got near them. so now i'm on fucking thirds again with all the ass clowns who are terrible.

and the worst part is i hate it when kids think they're too good for everyone else on the team and i hate being that guy who thinks hes better, and makes angry threads on NS. but playing with these guys today was just frustrating and sucked, and theres no way i want to play with them all season. so now i have to do some gay shit like pottery or weight lifting until ski season.

cliff notes: FUCK soccer tryouts

well that blows huge, ive been on varsity from freshman year till now. 6hrs of soccer a day in the summer pays off.

I feel for you. I sorta had the same except I missed the first day of fucking preseason and my fucking doctor didn't think he had to sign his signature on one of the lines. They split up the group to varsity and jv after the first day, so I got stuck with the shitty players without even a chance to make varsity. But I'm kinda over it now since the varsity cut brought some decent people back down and they are my friends who i've been playing with for a long time.

i'll try tomorrow, but they rarely make changes after the first day, and its tough to play your best when your playing with these thirds kids. and again i hate to sound like that, but they just don't know how to cut or pass and i'm not the like "lone wolf" kinda player...so it just ends up being frustrating. especially practicing with a varsity team all week, you just have to pass slower and play differently.

i've decided tonight i'm gonna spend half my summer savings on a pair of disorderlys for next season though, so hopefully that'll make me feel better haha.

I'd prefer that over how it is for me. I've been on varsity since my freshman year cause our team sucks ass big time. I didn't work my ass off or anything. I just showed up and got picked for varsity. Colville soccer is very lame.

this is why skiing is the best because it's just about having fun and you don't need to try out for anybody in order to ski. you can just go out and do it which makes it fucking sick.

Exactly. Besides soccer is in the spring where I live. So we start training in February when there's still a foot of snow on the ground and I'm like I don't want to play soccer right now. I wanna go skiing and that's it. That's all I'm thinking about then. And then I have to miss ski days and I only get to ski once a week because of games that we get killed in anyway so what's the point. I might just quit. It's no fun anymore.

hahaha legit smae thing happened today we were playing two games and i didnt get the ball once when the head coach was watching and then when the assistant coach was watching i scored 3 goals, but i dont really care about soccer anyway so it doesnt matter

i played soccer for a while and quit, i played competitive rep hockey for a while and just hated it, i dont like super serious competition and quit soccer and now play house level hockey only, also i get more time for skiing this way which is the one sport i truly love

yeah this happened to me in basketball, got stuck on the dumb kids team, who never passed so i never got to show the coach i can actually play

but then i quit bball because it took time from skiing

i got cut from the golf team this year (junior) after playing on it as a sophmore. i got cut because the freshman that i beat by 8 strokes over 2 days in tryouts would "have more time on the team and be able to develop into an assset" i thought that was bullshit and straight up told my coach that. turns out the golf coach is my AP chem teacher, fun...

not to be a dick, but if you really were super good, the coach would have noticed that anyways, and i wouldnt quit, soccer's dope no matter who you play with

my school has super intense sports too and i got cut to thirds soccer today, i don't really care about soccer, i don't go to camps or anything and i skipped preseason this year so i'm not pissed about getting cut from jv just because i didn't really try that hard to make it, i have 2 more years to try and make a good team, i'm at the top of thirds anyway so it's fun
but just have fun on the team you're on, and i used to get stuck in the shit groups in hockey tryouts but if you're really good tomorrow the coaches will put you where you belong, it's in their best interest and part of their job requirements to place you well and have you on the right team

i wish we had tryouts. we have like 25 kids on our team, i wish we could cut it down to like 15 that would be so nice. no fucking shitty ass kids to slow us down during practice and no fat kids who can't run during conditioning and whatnot.

dood just shred the shitty kids to the point where the coach has to put you on the team. and tell him how dedicated you are to the team and shit and will play the reserve role until its your time to shiiine/ step up your game

we have like 4 kids on our team that are fat fucks. it's retarded, like play football if you're fat. why would you play soccer?

duude

wait a week or two

play like mad

then

have a serious talk with your coach/director

tell him that you believe that you would do better on a different team

tell him that you will do whatever is necessary i.e. work on skills, bulk up, lose wieght

most important thing is to walk in this conversation completely in control

write out what you are going to say and run over it in the mirror a few times(eye contact is a major plus)

if there is a chance for you to move up, then this will improv it geatly

never back down brah...last year i was put down on jv instead of varsity and i thought it was gonna suck and i seriously thought about quitting...but i stuck it out and it was a good experience...ended my jv career 24-2-1...this year i did a good camp and kept at it and im up on varsity as like 2nd mid. sub and playing 40-50 min. a game...stick wit it bro...if you can really shred the other kids the coach will notice

Suck my balls, i rep the fat kids. Kind of. Chubby kids. I'm better then 90% of the kids on my team and i don't fail at running.

hmm i feel bad for you kinda. I made varsity this year but only a day after making it I got a major concussionn and have been out for two weeks, be thankful you can play. look at it this way, would you start if you made jv? how much more playing time will you get on freshmen? make some new friends. theyll help you later in life

Ok well I have no idea what this thirds team is but Im guessing its kinda like a freshman team, but for more than freshman? Anyways what you need to do is just keep working your butt off and to not act to good for the thirds team, do your best and if they make a mistake help them out. Let them know what they need to do, this will help you out a lot. Never yell at them or tell them they suck, this will only piss off the coach and guarantee the thirds team spot.

Also make sure you are vocal during the practices, try to get everyone on your side. Coaches will notice this, they may make you captain, and if its up to the players they may make you captain. Being captain will help you stand out more and I would only think its logical that if you are kicking ass on the thirds to move you up to help out the more important teams.

I played HS school for 5 years, JV as 8th grader and Varsity since freshman.
