Those capacitors have to be massive. I wonder if they use just one set or if they have a bunch of rotating sets that allow it to fire so quickly. If it is just one set how the hell is it charged so quickly?

This article just created so many questions in my mind.
 
I know nothing about this, but isn't the Ponce powered by a nuclear reactor on board? And don't those generate a shit ton of power. Just a thought

Yeah. This probably counts as a maser, but, it's the same thing just with microwaves. You can microwave minorities at long range with this thing.

Every time anything laser related comes up I think the same thing. Also have to explain to people why you can't have these high power lasers firing for like five minutes straight to slice your enemies in half unless your weapon is hooked up to an entire power plant.
 
I'm waiting for laser tanks, Russia already made a few in the 70's and 80's since back then lasers were clearly Russia's answer to everything. But like anything cool from that era they are just rusting away in random places.

its actually not a laser at all... its more of a cellphone tower with directional output. my occupation is design and manufacturing of lasers used for joint pain and other medical applications. our company also produces the same thing thats on that truck in a smaller scale. and the radio frequency is chosen to counter act wifi and cell signal.

now if you want to know about a laser weapons, the us and china both shot down test satellites with ground lasers and we also have a orbiting satellite that has a laser for destroying intercontinental ballistic missiles, i think it puts out some ridiculous power out put.

most of those powerful lasers use a gas medium to lase rather than a semiconductor medium which is what laser pointers and lower out put projectors use now a days.

also a laser is not actually a thing its a acronym .

jk. lasers are rad. I didn't watch the video in the OP, but I'm assuming that this is referring to LaWS. Here's another video.
