Although I agree with you, let people believe in god if they want to. Some people have so little, they have no where else to turn. Without religion, the poor would cause much more of an uproar. Religion keeps them occupied and happy- which is something they really need.
 
I'm most likely older than you, kid, but arguing using age as a basis is as empty as saying, "I'm smarter than you because you only have a one inch penis." It's irrelevant. It's about your education, which you have proven time and time again to have little about. You don't have to dumb down anything because your statements are about as dumb as they come. Honestly, it's no use trying to reason with people like you. It's best to say your peace with people like you, let them get all pissy and defensive and get on with your lives. actually in his defense(this is a once in a lifetime occurance) even though conservatives are mostly against abortion the actual conservative approach would be to be for abortions because conservatives believe in little government interference. I would personally not want someone to have an abortion but I would not condemn them for having one. If we outlawed abortion they would still happen with clothes hangers in dark alleys. Its very sad.

Just for a second, let's forget all the missionaries, crusades, and exclusion that religion harbors. Now, let us focus on some of the GOOD that religion(specifically Christianity, as it is the religion I am most familiar with) can do:

The Poor-

As a nation, we have decided to let our poor starve in the streets for the most part. Religious organizations provide food, run shelters, and help those who have been knocked down get back on their feet (jobs). In this case, religion provides a vital service to those who are less fortunate.

Peace-

Regardless of your interpretation of the Bible, it is impossible to deny that Jesus did not preach peace. While certain groups have violated it over the centuries, the peaceful actions that Jesus commands his followers to use present a very effective model for waging peace on the world.

if humans cannot help eachother without the incentive of heaven we dont deserve to survive. atheisim is more human then christianity and i am 100% sure if there was any atheist organaztion that had the money of some unmentioned christian ones that would be doing just as much

If you knew more about Jesus teachings, you would understand that doing deeds to get rewards is empty and soulless. These Christians are helping other people, that is what counts. And their religion is what motivates it. If not religion, why not compassion for a fellow man? There is very little difference there, and good is being achieved.

As for funding, without religion many people would not give money to be used for the downtrodden in the way they do under religion. In this case, it is a powerful tool to relocate money between classes.

Studies have shown that nonreligious orgs are just as likely to help the sick as religious orgs are. and when the church has no expenses what so ever and takes incredible amounts of donations from normal people, they better fucking do something to help the less fourtunate. but to them it is just a business.

side note- there were over 40 profits while jesus was preaching his ways... but there are many terrible things in the bible which jesus was in complete acceptance of(old testament. i.e owning a slave/beating wife/child/killing your child if they repeatedly talked back to you/selling your daughter into prostitution. ect ect ect done.

All religious texts taken seriously are dangerous. We saw this with Christian fanatics hundreds of years ago, and we are seeing it now with Muslim Fanatics. However, should one take a look at society and see if that is acceptable, and decide it isn't, religion can teach a lot of good. It can teach morals and ethics really well, as long as it isn't plagued. Which is the problem. It often is plagued.

i would say that is a biased opinion, from the perspective of another person atheist could be the complete fuck ups.
 
alot of old testament teachings were common customs back then. jesus said alot of things that made some old testament law not important any more.

the bibles also teaches of opening your hand to the poor and loving thy neighbor but you only see negative aspects that arent even practiced today.
 
Unfortunately, what you say is true. And we have used this extensively in other countries. However, this is not a constant, and all of the charity work I have done did not require any sort of religious qualification.

Regardless, I find homeless and poor people to have much stronger faith in God than those who are more monetarily blessed.

second of all, how does a church have no expenses? they have a building to maintain, taxes to pay, salaries for ministers, etc.

third, what "studies" are you referring to? that's the biggest cop-out answer ever - "well studies prove you're wrong." if those studies are out there, cite them. otherwise your argument is useless.

as for your side note, i don't even know what you're saying - 40 profits? do you mean prophets? and if so, what does that have to do with anything?

finally, your last comment really proves you know nothing about the Bible. how about letting us know where you get your information that Jesus was in "complete acceptance" of killing your children, beating your wife, pimping your daughter?
