After not allowing gapers in your park today, you then arrest a friend. First they stopped allowing gapers in Park Lane and Freeway. If you are good enough to hit jumps on kid's skis/snowblades, then you are good enough to be drunk hitting jumps in park lane. Only letting people in dressed normally? I wear women's jeans normally, dick. I thought Stalin was dead.

Then you arrest my friend for being drunk at the top of beaver run? What bullshit. I can't come up with 800 in cash for bail, I assume there are other charges in there, besides just disorderly. What ass crap. And why do you need someone sober to sign them out of jail. How the fuck do you find someone sober on gaper day? Suck a fat dick ski patrol and Breck PD. If a man wants to ski drunk, then let him ski drunk. He wasn't hurting anyone besides the racial slurs he tossed off the lifts.

i saw a snowboarder get his pass pulled without warning cause he was buttering around a lot of people. they argued pretty intensely for awhile and the snowboarder actually ended up being a breck employee hahaha the ski patrol dude was so lame and didn't even give the kid a chance.
 
shit was such bullshit, i really wanted to stab the faggot ski patroller with the mustache. i tried to get back in the park claiming that a tall tee was the opposite of gaper attire, but they wouldn't buy it. according to them, having a bunch of kids mob down a park is more dangerous then having them mob through beginner trails and almost running over countless actual gapers, not really getting the logic there. At the end of the day we saw that guy with the bloody nose screaming at a cop while the cop just stood there with his dog, one of the funniest things i've ever seen. fuck breck

yeah breck is fucking gay as fuck. thats so messed up that they wouldnt let people in because they were dressed up. we even saw them let some real gayper with a bright suit in, the only reason they let her in is probably cause she was like 50. i dont see how its better to let real gaypers in rather than good skiers pretending to be gaypers.
and thats fucking retarded that they would rather have us bomb the beginner runs spraying people and doing crazy shit, thats so much more dangerous than going through the park doing sick tricks.

i dont get angry... ever, but i was sooo pissed today. FUCK breck mtn safety, park crew and ski patrol. i asked the head guy earrly in the day for some sunscreen and he seemed nice. then turned total ASS when I tried to file a complaint. fuck them. there was some mom screaming at us about being reckless and i wanted to go tell her that because management wouldn't let us in the park here kids get scared. ooops. so now im gonna give a nice fuck you to all those who love power tripping.

its gaper day, everyone acts crazy and does stupid shit on gaper day every year, they always have and they always will. all the other mountains deal with it and usually have fun with it. but breck has to be gay as fuck and try and ruin everybodys fun as much as they can.
and compared to other gaper days ive done, this one wasnt that crazy or reckless at all compared to them, yeah every now and then there would be a big train or like 3 people would hit a jump at once, but there was nothing very dangerous or crazy.
and whats funny is that they were letting real gapers in, the people that fuck themselves up and others by knowing nothing about what your supposed to do in a park, hell 1 gaper died this year on like a 20 footer at breck, yet the gay ski patrol bitches at all the experienced skiers pretending to be gapers instead.

and i dont think anyone was getting mad at the park crew, i think it was mostly the speed patrol guys and ski patrol that people were getting pissed at. though some of the park crew guys are pretty big douches sometimes. anyway yeah you make shit better for us because its your JOB, you get paid for it, your no more special than any other normal person just cause you shovel snow around.

anyway its just fucked up how gay breck is about gaper day, its one day out of the whole year where people goof off like crazy and get to be as dumb as they want, every other mountain is ok with it, but i guess there must be a bunch of power tripping assholes at breck that think they have to fuck it up for everyone else. people just need to cheer the fuck up. like i saw this one group of gangstered out snowboarders talking shit to all the gaper day participants saying how dumb we are and shit. people like that and whoever decided to close the park need to relax and have fun.
 
No one was even that drunk this year and they shut down the parks; bullshit. No one is hating on park crew. They are hating on cops and ski patrol that had too much authority. I am still surprised gapers didn't rush the park with a train with like 100 people deep, in fact I am little let down.

What is worse is that they let some girl into Freeway. Guaranteed she wouldn't hit the jumps or any rails, just pro ho her way down to lip slapping the pipe. Fucking bullshit. If I weren't hammered right now I would be pissed. Just for this I am going to spray as many 85 dollar a day paying gapers as possible. I will not a buy a pass next year. Not just because of this, but because of this whole bulllshit Vail Resorts mentality and the whole not living here thing.

Fucking just let people be drunk and be dicks to the gapers, they deserve it after all the shit they put up with.

now look whose making gross generalizations, realize that not every single person was being retarded. in fact, the only thing different from a regular park day was teh amount of old school tricks thrown. some of the park crew guys were as pissed as me, but some were total dicks, so therefore i made the generalization of fuck the park crew, there you go.

n response to today’s letter about “hardworking, underpaid locals” who deserve to celebrate Gaper Day, I sit amazed that locals feel so victimized by their chosen home that they would actually suggest that they are entitled to make fun of the people who help to support their lifestyles.

Do these “locals” ever consider that visitors work hard somewhere too and that they are doing us the favor by choosing Breckenridge to spend their valuable time and resources?

It is ridiculous to suggest that we should be allowed to mock visitors because “they flood the grocery stores and swamp the ski slopes”. That level of “busy” significantly helps to fund daycare, affordable housing, recreation centers, etc ... for “hardworking, underpaid locals”.

I have lived here for 13 years, a relatively short time. Living here is a choice and I chose to live here where life is blissful despite having spent quite a few years working 2 or 3 jobs and only being able to afford a tiny, very expensive condo.

I cherish every moment I can spend skinning up a mountain, going trail running, seeing a great concert, boating wild rivers ... If you are so bitter about the inconveniences of life here that your spirit is filled with need to be mean to hard working folks who are kind enough to visit then it is time for you to move. How would you feel if you were reviled and made fun of while you were on vacation because you had the audacity to make that place “busy”?

Someone needs to say it: Locals, stop your bratty, spoiled whining. You aren’t forced to live here, make the choice to be a kind and happy influence on this community, or leave and go back to your hometown where there are no grocery lines and no skiing, no snowboarding, no mountain, nobiking, no boating …

 
that was dumb, its not that we are like making fun of them cause we hate them, we are just mocking them cause its fun as fuck! like i have nothing against gapers, i think alot of them are really awesome, its just fun to be able to goof off for a day and not worry about how much steeze you have and shit, instead its all 100% about having fun.
and with the way everyone dresses on gaper day, its not mocking anyone, cause the outfits are so crazy and way more gaper than anyone you will ever see on the mountain.

 
And I think we may even make some gapers feel good about themselves, I can just see it now, "see honey this suit ain't that out of fashion, everyone is wearing them." How do the tourists know it is gaper day? Retarded.
 
Man, that sucks. Its not a government ski area, they can make and enforce any rules they want. I avoid frontside skiing. I'm not buying a lift ticket next year. Instead I will be taking my $1600 and putting a down payment on a new sled. Back country booters and fresh snow 2 weeks after a storm are where its at.
 
Word, and ski patrol if you bitch about how much you get paid leave or suck it up. You have a decision nobody is forcing you to work there and if you are being underpaid for your human capital than either you are an idiot or you understand that your perks are worth the low pay.
 
I've been many places for skiing, and I like it here. It seems more permanent. There is actually a really great community if you can get past the second home owners. Like I said though, I don't think I will be purchasing a pass next year. We have some really kick ass snowmobiling and back country, so thats where I'll be spending much of my time. My sled is getting a little hagered, time to upgrade.
