You are forgetting that as americans, our pride in our country is second only to our hate for other countries. we would hate china getting the gold by breaking the rules, even if we werent in the running.

i just dont see why it took everyone elso so long to figure it out cause i mean i think it would be kinda hard to miss that ya know? like that more than one member on their team lied about there age. but idk how the olympics works so it might be easier than i think. but cheating is kinda low
 
there shouldnt even be an age rule, if a 14 yearold can beat a 20 year old then so be it. The age rule is fuckin retarded, isnt the olympics

do you know how much training and pressure they are under so many gymnasts have eating disorders and starting that young is not right
 
haha ya isnt that just a slap in the face to the usa team if their 14 yo are beating our 16+yo, i dont really see the problem in letting them compete
 
this world is so fucking jealos of each other that there really going to take away three medals for 14 year olds because they kick ass??? i think if u have the skillz to get into the olympics u shouldn't b fucked with
 
yea! and i think people who cheat in other sports, like dopers in cycling shouldn't be stripped of their titles either! And steroid users in baseball should be praised!

Honestly, are you serious? Rules are there for a reason. They broke them to gain an unfair advantage, as has been established in this thread. They are cheaters. Strip them of their medals, and ban them from international competition.

And i don't blame the girls, they are incredible, but their country fucked them over by not waiting another 4 years, when they could have been even better
 
true, and i just realized that i somewhat contradicted myself by saying i didn't blame them. But I'd say don't let them into the Olympics again. maybe other international competitions, but not the olympics because they have already been there, and they fucked it up. And some blame actually should be put on the girls, because if i was them, i'd have realized that i wasn't 16 but was entering a competition where i had to be. But once again, i suppose if you want something enough, you'll do anything to get in
 
ha, sorry, i'm a bit out of it, forgot we were dealing with the chinese. I'll admit to that fuck up, they really had no choice on that. So i'll take back that last statement, they did not have an option.
 
well in the thread it was said that a younger girl has the advantage, you said "if a 14 y/o can compete against some one older let them" or something along those lines, so go fuck off and read the thread again.
 
advantage or not, if you are the best you are the best. this thread is basically everybody bitching because the us girl wasnt good enough to beat the little chinese girl.

if the us girl was that good, she would have beaten the chinese girl.
the us girl also has an advantage to by the way, she has more experience. that might be a little more important then size.

o sorry, josh... for not reading the entire thread... im sorry i dont have that much time on my hands. what i said still makes complete utter sense are you going to believe everything the media says, gawd your stupid. a 14 year old is not nearly as strong as a 20 year old, a 20 year old also has way more experience under there belts... really the only thing a 14 year old is better at is being flexible, but gymnastics really isnt about contortionism so the 20year olds still have a better advantage... there just pissed cause they got beat by a young'n and they've been training for this there whole lives and thought that they'd be much better than a child.

no a 20 year old does not have the advantage, as they are heavier and because they have gone through puberty they are more unbalanced.

I think the bigger story with this thread is the title. On any other site a member would be banned after posting something like this. Get rid of this loser.
 
actually you guys are wrong it has nothing to do with pressure in fact gymnastics is the only event with an age restriction and the reason is, younger people (under 16) have an unfair advantage with there flexibility, a small child is apt to have a ridiculous amount of flexibility.
 
its not because of the pressure, its because when your younger your more felxible, a huge part of gymnastics

I read the thread, this is like saying a young kid would be better at freestyle skiing. Think about it, freestyle skiing is more like gymnastics than any other sport. You dont have to be strong to be a freestyle skier as most of the kids on the hill are pinner, its good to be flexible and have better balance but have you ever seen a super young kid win anything huge? exception jossi wells. but he was still like 16. I've read the thread, experience trumps all dude. Older people also have bigger balls when it comes to learning new things because they have more experience.
 
I don't get where your getting this "more experience" argument from. In China they take these kids away from their families and force them into Gymnastics when they are 3. Fucking 3, its like a fucking prison camp. So from 3 - 14 they are trained/forced to compete. Its not like that in America at all. I have known tons of gymnastics girls, their parents might start them Tumbling at like 3-4, more as a kind of day care, than athletic training. Not until 5-6 do they seriously take Gymnastics. And even then its not like they force kids to compete. So 11 years of Nazi-esque training regimes vs. 11 years of typical American Athletics (just for fun --> little league --> competitive) . Tell me which one has more "experience."
