Yo so I know some racers are chill right but okay the racers at my mountain are ridiculous and here's why

Y'know how when you get in line, there's like 3 lines, right? A quad line, another whatever-the-hell-that-is line, and a singles line. And so the singles just line up and hang out and get paired with a chair when they can, right? And in order for the system to work, everybody has to wait in line, so the line can move at a constant pace...

but that constant pace is NOT ENOUGH FOR RACERS!!!

Nah, racers, and EXCLUSIVELY racers, can't wait in the singles line. Literally every day at my mountain they mosey on up to the FRONT of the line, find a group of three, duck the rope, and go with them. Ya see the problem right? If all the racers go up to the front then how the hell is the singles line gonna move? They're just fucking cutting the line and everyone is just like yeah lmao hop in with us

And like yeah they have races to race in n shit but at my mountain they have their own LIFT for races, that goes to basically the same peak so like what??? confused can they enlighten me on why they need to cut our goddamn singles line just to take the high speed quad??????

Yesterday I saw a group of little kid racers blocking the entrance to the park by huddling in a group with the coach. I was hoping they were still there once I got off the lift and bombed my way to the park so I could human slalom the racers and cut off the coach.

I agree most racers are complete assholes, I'm assuming they feel so entitled because daddy's money can get them anything. But I'm a racer and there are a few other chill dudes I've met. I make sure the throw a nice little 180 over the finish line whenever I have a bad run
 
If I feel people are moving slow and not being aware in the lines, I make sure I snake my way up. If your too slow to add your twosome with the group in front of you, you better believe Im gonna be on that chair. Move up or lose out.
 
There's asshole racers, there's asshole park skiers, there's assholes in every sport. Especially in sports that are mostly done by rich people. At least in ski racing theres no people saying shit like, "Oh I mean that Ted ligety guy may be the most talented skier in our sport but I don't like him because he has no style."
 
ya racers at my hill are all total assholes, one took my buddies skis and just fucking tossed them right in front of my friend. So he almost ended up fighting him... also this racer was like 50 so it would have hilarious.
 
Often times when you get to the top of the small park at my mountain there is a big group of racers/shred kids all in the way, dropping very, very slowly. (4-5 times a day) I always go to the front and call next drop and watch them all cry

thats probably why he didn't fight him. he recognized that the racer was a superior being. maybe one day il make it to that point in my life.

What's wrong with them doing this. They are in the small park trying to learn? They are doing the right thing. Pretty sure you are being the ass in this situation.
 
Racing is the reason why skiing has any sort of profit or consistent customer base. Without racing, there would be no bentchetlers. No sidecut. No camber. No fucking edges even. You need racing.

Plus, when you're training, you're usually allowed to skip to the front of the line. Most mountains have special racer lanes (often coupled with ski school).
 
I generally find that park skiers compared to racers are MUCH BIGGER douches around the mountain. They think they are the "style kings" when racers would blow them out of the water in most skiing and probably the park as well.

Especially the age group of HS kids...always cursing loud in the lift lines, acting like morons, generally the ones who suck as well.
 
Speak your words to them. I race, but only do it to go skiing more. I patiently wait like the rest of america. Some racers can be assholes

I'll explain better, there's 3 'rows' of features. It would be expected once someone gets through the first two, safely & still skiing, one could go. They wait till the person is all the way to the bottom, and probably another minute or so.
 
A main lift broke down at my home hill two years ago. The race course got moved to where the park used to be, and the park got moved to a bunny hill. Isn't at all the racers fault, but it really bothers me when they spend more time shooting off the side of lips than they do on their own run...

Not to burst your bubble, but this doesn't often happen. I've raced out of three hills in my racing life and all three of them would NEVER make that kind of sacrifice for a park. Usually we just either dont get to train or we have to drive to another hill to train.

Also that lift must have been pretty fucking broken for your hill to take the time to move all the features over a run completely..

This isn't an attack on racers, it's an attack at the racers at my mountain specifically. Like I said, they have their own lift that isn't open to anyone else except for a few days every year, but instead they use ours...

To let the racers use the quad that's meant for the general masses? I don't think so. The racing instructors here are actually pretty good about advocating for the separation of racers from general skiers because they slow everything down. But the kids don't seem to listen...

Not sure why you're so pissed about me ragging on these racers. It's not like I just hate them for being racers, they're actually doing something shitty.
