^Sorry dude High School is not just something you do for seven hours and go home and sleep. If that is the way you're approaching it you might want to get used to greasy food prep and lots of pimples. High School is a large part of your foundation into life. Yes it is a place to learn lessons from screwing up, you should also learn how to not screw up. 'Should I get so drunk at school I can't remember even getting busted', come on that is pretty stupid. The suspension he recieved will hamper his chances at even a shitty college. Chances are you'll be enrolling into some penal institution after dropping out of HS any way so college is probably a lost thought anyway. Good luck in life and I'll have cheese on my whopper please.

actually i have a 3.5 average in high school and i take honors classes. i'm not saying you shouldn't blow it off, i guess i said that wrong. i just find it stupid that people like to bake and drink before school like it's needed to get by. school isn't that bad, i guess i was trying to say it's only 1/4 of the day, save the other 3/4 for drinking and smoking.

I said awhile ago that I thought I was an alcoholic because when i didnt drink i started twitching and shit. I'm not an alcoholic anymore. Seriously... Quit bashing on the guy. This reminds me a lot of the 'Who on this site isn't druggie trash' or whatever thread with the Prince guy. It was just a fuck up... Everyone has them, and he's going to rehab or counseling or whatever. Yes, colleges will see that he got suspended for being hella drunk and whatnot, but if he puts down that he took counseling for it, then they'll see that 'hey, this kid was actually trying to straighten himself out, unlike many other people who stop school after high school and jut waste their lives away or whatever' (don't get me wrong... I wasn't at all saying that just because you don't go to college means you're wasting your life away). Point being, he's got a good GPA, it seems he does well in school, and he's fixing a mistake he made as a sophomore in high school. He still has three years left to prove himself, so don't be ragging on him just yet. I had a huge slump my junior year... No, I didn't get suspended, but I failed a class I shouldn't have and dropped out of two others, and I've always been a perfect student up until then. This year, I'm making up for those classes and I have pleanty of extracurriculars and great SAT scores, so stop thinking that just because you're older than most of the people on this site, that you know all. Done.

If I remember correctly (and I believe Derek reposted), you were commenting on how he was going to end up in some penal institute, never go to college, and you mocked him by saying you'd like cheese on your Whopper. So yes, you were saying that he will be a failure. Furthermore, it seems perfectly ligit for me to imply that you're an asshole. I honestly don't care that you're 'twice my age' and about 'respect', when you're not at all respecting Derek. He admitted he was wrong, and it seems like he wants to change at least some... There are all kinds of over-achievers who become very successful, but drink alcohol in high school. I could list quite a few. As I've stated in a different thread a while ago, my uncle has serious drug and alcohol problems in high school AND college, and he's now one of the top wildlife biology professors at UC Davis. He's been in the news and on television numerous times. Anyway, I don't see why you care so much about the future of someone who is 'half your age' and whom you obviously look down upon. Let him live his own life and make his own mistakes, and then when (and if) he DOES by chance end up living in a trailor park and working at Burger King, then you can comment. I also don't feel it was right of you to say that if we want to support him and be his friend, we should have thought about that before he got wasted at school or whatever. First of all, how the hell was I or anyone else supposed to know that he was going to get completely shit faced? I don't even know the guy, but I'm supporting him because I believe what you're saying is wrong.

I don't think you realize that you've got a record now. You getting drunk on the first day of school and getting arrested and suspended isn't going to go over well with most people, and it's really not going to go over well with the admissions office at where ever you apply. He's not saying that you're destined to be a fuck up, but you've taken a few steps in that direction.

sure Einstien dropped out of school, but if I'm smart and I drop out I'm not going to become as great as Einstien no matter how hard I try, Just because your uncle had problems doesn't mean that someone who has similar problems is gonna be ok. Look at the numbers of people that are success full and didn't have huge dirnking and drug problems, some of them are flipping burgers but I can bet a lot more of them are successfull.

I'm all for having fun and drinking/smoking, but yeah that's a litte much to not remember if the sirens on, and then to tell us about it. I smell a little bullshit from the same guy that posted shit about driving his friends car drunk which really turned out to be another dudes car on this site, half way across the country. And then making another user name and pretending to be jimmy page, and you say you steal all of the alcohol from your parents? I doubt your parents would be unaware of someone stealing enough alcohol from them to classify them as an alcoholic and even enough alcohol to cause withdrawl symptoms such as twitching, (you'd probably have to be completely shit faced for days on end and then abruptly stop)

school just increses your chance of getting a higher paying job, it by no means guarntees it. furthermore, if you are truly passionate and good at what you do, you dont really need school, no matter what disipline you are in. school just forces the unmotivated to study something they wouldnt otherwise care for without a structured system that is set up for you. its not the only way to get a good life for yourself. That said, in the big picture, I dont think a few beers at school is a big deal at all. boys will be boys.

^thats not necerssarly true. my cousin graduated from HS, then went on to college and learned about some map shit that he never even knew existed with out school, college none the less. And he graduated from college in four years with a tumor in his face. He had a hard time recovering from a shitload of surgieres, his parents didnt even think he would continue college, nevermind graduate in four years. but he did, and he was a partier (got fucked up sometimes like Derek), as I assume Derek is. So, my cousin proves that you really can do anything, even if you fuck up or have bad luck.

My parents dont notice that I take alcohol from them because they drink every day and just assume the other was drinking when I take the alcohol.

As I said before, I don't even know Derek, and I was merely supporting him because you're an asshole a lot on this site, and were making comments that I didn't feel were necessary. Anyway, my uncle isn't that proud of his past, but it's not the biggest secret, either. Hell, my grandpa was a biology teacher at their high school, and he found my uncle's pot plant that he was growing, and my uncle tried to tell Grandad that it was some other herb. Needless to say, Grandad busted his ass (he IS a biology teacher, and knows his plants quite well).
