So today I was skiing with my friends and we went on this groomed run that has a big roller at the end, so it was fast. My friend went first then me. He hit the roller but I didn't see him ski out but then I saw his ski fly up like 20 feet. I go down and see him rag dolling and look back up the slope and see these two kids in the landing. we hike back up and one kid is bleeding from his head. after like 10 minutes the patrollers get here. and they put him on the sled. My friend goes to the aid room and his leg might be broken (but probably not, he is at the hospital now). But the kid who got hit got medivaced out, so we will see.

damn blind rollers. why is there always someone at the bottom?
 
this is one of those times which proves that only idiots sit under landings...if you get hurt, ski with your friends so if your stuck at a landing they can tell people not to hit the jump, holy duck this sounds horrible
 
the kid had the right of way cause he was the downhill skier. but he still shouldn't have been sitting there. i hope they are alright
 
fuck sitters. I once blew over a little booter and landed in right in the middle of a group of kids who we're having a chill sesh right in the landing zone
 
If it was blind he shouldn't have gone off it, end of, or at least slowed down. If it's on a groomer that's completely different from someone sitting in the landing to a booter. Yes it was stupid, but it could just have easily been someone who had fallen, hardly their fault if someone then twats them in the head because they didn't know what was below them and went off blind.

You need to take some responsibility.

 
^^thats the problem. we can't. plus if you get hurt standin under a jump then it really is your problem. it sucks tho that your buddy got hurt cuz of some idiots
 
good people need to learn how to not sit or stand on the landing last season we got so sick of it when kids were on the landing we just acted like they wernt their cause if u hit them it aint ur fult so yeh

Plus, that really sucks man, for the kid and for your friend. But people need to wear more helmets.
 
exactly, the kid shouldnt have been there, but you should have checked the roller, this is almost exactly what happend to CR.
 
There was some guy teaching his girlfriend how to ski on the landing of the money booter of my hill last weekend. I saw them for the first time at 360... fuckin awesome
 
one time i was mountain biking, and this guy came on a trail intersection, clipped my rear wheel and threw me to a tree... I never saw the fukker again.
 
If you drive around at 100 mph everywhere you go, and someone doesn't see you coming, and they broad side you and you kill them, is it their fault that you were driving recklessly? Even if kids do sit in the "landing" of a roller, or with a blind spot uphill of them, you, as a skier are responsible with anticipating something like that. I guarantee that if there was a tree on the landing, noone would blame it.
 
It sucks what happened, but jumping blind is dumb, I used to jump rollers all the time in racing blind (in a train too) but I never do it now because it would suck landing on a 5 year old, even if it isn't their fault.

Use groomers to get to the lifts, jump in the park/natural features on hard runs. Unless you live in the midwest in which case I'm sorry to hear that.
 
honestly, fuk that happened to me once i freakin smashed right into a kid when going over a roller the kid was like 10 and started to cry he wasent bleeding injured or anything, then his dad comesover and starts bitching at me on how i should watch where im going the i said fuck you your kids then one who was sitting in the middle of the run, then i gave him the finger and skied away and all i here is " you fucking kid im reporting this to the ski patrol and your getting your pass takin"
 
^^ and before i skied away he was babying the kid like he was 2 years old ( and i know he was 10, cuz his dad made it very clear that hes onllyyyy 10 so i told him that im only thirteen) and saying to the kid its ok were going to get this mean bully in trouble, it was so pethetic i almost cried my self. and i never got in any trouble, the ski patrol found me and said that i shouldent have sworn and then skied away because it was very rude, but then said its not nearly enough to get me kiked out ( just incase i was worring)
 
HAHAHA thats why i get in trouble in school and sometimes suspended, for when a teachers tells me to do something i always go "no", "make me" , "screw you im not going in the hall", "go ahead call the v.p. see what i care" .......................................etc
 
Last season, we where filming for our vid, on the big cheese wedge at my park, and we where landing way down on the landing. So IM goin down get this huge 5 in and ass check the landing cuz It was hard landing that far down. So im sliding with my back down the hill waiting to slow down so I can turn around when all of a sudden I hear my buddy yell "get the fuck off the landing" then right after BAM I smoked this kid who he and his friends where chilling on the landing, I was told he did a b flip to land on his face, and his ski boots hit me in the back and the head. Got a nice concussion from that, and I luckily rocked my helm that day and I usually dont when riding park.
 
haha i allmost hit this guy last day at wentworth i was flying down the hill to the jump and this guy was walking up the landing to get his pole but i hit a huge puddle of slush and like stoped so i didnt hit him
 
if its not in a park, it's the person jumping's responsibility to make sure the landing is clear. the kid in the landing could have

a) been a douche bag and was chilling in the landing or

b) actually wrecked and got hurt there
 
somthing like thhis happened to me last year. there was a little kid standing right next to a jump so i start my run-in i hit the jump and the kid had started to ski straight down the landing area. I nailed him head on. he was only like 7 or 8 so i felt kinda bad buy i was like what the fuck are you doing in a park anyway.
