anyone else do this? realize at the end of grade 12 that maybe you should have done a bit more work, take a couple harder courses got those marks up. Highschool was a breeze for me i never did anywork now i realize that maybe if i had some good marks i might have been able to go right to university, heck maybe i want to be a doctor, now there is no way in hell that could be possible, thinking about upgrading some courses maybe next year, going to try my luck at film school first, here is a message to all you kids in grade 8, 9 and 10 don't worry about good marks in those grades, work your ass off in grade 11 and 12, it will make your life a hell of a lot easier in the end

man, getting A's and shit is simple. you jsut can't party so much. that was my problem. we started getting drunk every morning at 9:30 and then i'd goto work at 5.....good times. so i withdrew from school and will be attending CMC. i completely fucked up my life and look at me now. do good in school, make a lot of money when you're older. fuckin' hot 20 year olds on your yot seams much better then getting hammered all day. however it was fun. just copy of the book worms and get hammered.

^ all of the above live in a logical fallacy. While skiing is fun its not life. For some it is, but they are pros...therefore fing something you do like and do it well otherwise I garauntee you you wont be skiing long. Just wait till mom and pops coffers end and the illusion of real work hits after hs/college. College does not equal work. It is the exact opposite of work (college = the greatest amount of free time for intellectual discovery and social interaction). Sure it might not seem that way because there is 'homework' but that 'work' doesn't put food on the table or skis on your feet. It might lead to something that does. Slacking off isnt what you want to do high school work to the best of your ability and things will happen. A lot more doors will open up than you realize.

all you have to do is turn in some crap papers, and study for tests right before class and you have yourself an A in that class. It's a bit harder in math though, but that's a diff story.

I don't understand how so many people can not give a fuck about school and learning worldly stuff. In any career ever, even slacking off, knowing a lot and being able to be a critical, open minded, global thinker, with some facts behind your ass, will help you a shitload. You don't necessarily have to act like a smartass but it will help you with anything, even slacking. So I suggest before you are 60 and go 'Oh shit, now what the fuck do I do?' go out and at least try at some other stuff and find other interests and be more interesting, well rounded people.

ya, I care about grades and stuff, but I personally hate having to sit in some of my classes where we pretty much just crap in our pants listening to a teacher talk about random shit and giving you things to COLOUR!. Plus I have math classes that I might as well only show up for tests and quizzes cause all the teacher does is tell us the hw and give us tests. woo, how much fun is that?

Jonas said it right.. theres no need to do a lot of work if you can talk your way out of it. Just be smart about the work that you have to do. If you do nothing and are an asshole to the teacher you will be failed. But if you do a little, and make the teacher think you're doing more, you're set. At least thats how it is in high school, ill see about college next year.

SAT's arent everything, grades count. I know I am going to sound like the old man sellout here. I am 23, graduated college and work as an engineer now. I make very good money, can afford the nice toys...pretty much because I did some work in high school and in college. Ya partying life away seems like a good idea. But when I go home and see the 'cool' kids from high school who people thought were awesome because they didnt care about school. They are all still working their same shitty jobs and living at home with their parents and talk about their high school days as the best thing in their life. I find that sad. Figure if you dont make decent money or if you arent a 100% ski bum you wont be able to ski much, skiing is an expensive sport...tickets, equipment, getting there, having a place to stay...that shit adds up especially when you dont have mom and dad covering the costs for you. When someone gives you shit for doing something with your life, ask them what it will feel like working in the mall for the next 25 years.

There is a saying in the buisness world, it goes like this: C students own the buisnesses, B students are the managers and A students work for them...

Why is this? Because the C student cant do much because he has no college degree, so he is forced to do something for themselves.. And the A student is soo 'skilled' in a trade (engineer) that they dont risk trying something new and end up working like a slave for the rest of their lives for the C student.. And B students fall right in the middle.
