ya. and on powder days its funny. sometimes they close the great flume, but a bunch of pople just duckthe rope and ski it, or go into solitude canyon. they dont really care at all.

Wouldn't you have a little bit of a chip on your shoulder if you has to constantly deal with arrogant punks who think they can do whatever they want. I think you'd change your tone if you were buried by an avy because ski patrol wasnt there to ensure the hill was safe, or if you had to be helped down a mountain with a broken leg. They guys are just doing their job, and a good job at it.

At my mountain, the volunteer ski patrol's alright (there is no paid ski patrol), but some of the security guys are douchebags. Last weekend I almost got my pass pulled for hitting a jump that was 3 feet behind a closed sign. There wasnt even a rope and everyone had been hitting it all day and this security dick decided to single out me and my friends and some random kid for no reason.

at one local hill i used to go to the ski patrol was pretty gay even when i broke my ankle there dude called it a spraing then made me sign tons of paper worki got cited for skiing switch down half the main mountain trailthen they've taken our passes when we were building jumps in powder and made us stay there until after they closed till we could get them backthat would suck to get caught smoking by a dick ski patroller especially if he called the cops

yeah i respect ski patrol when they help you and stuff if you get hurt but like not when you jump a fence and jump back in and they cut your pass but its many the volanteers that are stupid ass. But on the small hill that i ride sometimes there was no fence and we went under the chairlift and there were little grass spots and i got my pass cut by ski patrol which was for no reason

yes there are some dicks out there but for the most part they're chill,
but for real they do have to be dicks sometimes b/c if you do something stupid and someone gets hurt, then they get stuck having to hear about it from the mountain management

they are so gay. well some of them are. there is this one fat ass at my mountain that yells at me for everything. we were making a small jump on a ridge in the park because there wasnt anything set up (early season last year) and the fat piece of shit told us to take it down because someone was going to hit it. there is a big orange sign that has all the warnings on it. then he thinks he is tough shit and chases everyone down. he even chased down the head of ski school and a bunch of other guys going down a closed trail, lets just say he was a little embarrassed when he got to the bottom and realized who he was yelling at

the fence is there for a reason. fortunately for some. perhaps not so fortunately for you. deal with it.
while your small hill may not have tons of avalanche control work and hazardous terrain evaluation, ski patrol is still necessary. imagine those little grass spots not properly marked as "closed" and some weekender skis across it and breaks their leg. in our stupid society the weekender would probably successfully sue the resort for not marking it clearly enough and your lift ticket price would go up a thousand dollars or the resort shut down.
your resort has insurance premiums to keep under control. which is partially accomplished by closing off terrain that is deemed unsafe. if you do not like it, feel free to purchase your own swath of land in the mountains and open your own ski resort.
the majority of ski patrol would rather be skiing than patrolling for dumbasses.

well he does have a point. most of the ski patrol at smuggs are super chill while all the ski patrol at st bruno (this shity hill) are complete douche bags. last season i broke both hands and had a bloody face and the patroller was standing super far from me because she was scared or something and the bitch was like are you ok? and i could barly fucking answer because i was in so much pain and the patroller just left so i had to ski down to the bottom and call my mom to come pick me up.

I have problems with ski patrol at some mountains just because they yell at me for skiing fast.... I know what im doing im a better skier than them i understand they are watching out for me but I know my own limits. At my local mountain I have never had a problem with ski patrol they let us do our thing.
