So i was playing gta4 yesterday, just got it a week ago so im stoked on it, and it freezes while im playing. Well ok, ive had this happen before, just have to reboot from the dashboard. So i go to hit the middle button on my controller and nothing comes up and i wonder whats going on. So i take the game out and close the tray, but look at that, still frozen on my game. Hmm.

So i turn it off and turn it back on. Nothing happens. The power button is green, but my tv says "no signal". At this point i am getting mad. So i turn it off and move it so it has more ventilation. I let it rest until today. I turn it on and it starts to load up, so im stoked. But then it freezes on the xbox 360 logo and doesn't load up to the dashboard.

So im getting frustrated now so i call xbox support to figure this out. So we go through a bunch of things to see if we can figure out whats wrong. Nothing works so they said id have to send it in for repair. Dank, whatever, brand new xbox in a month, ive had to do it before.

But then the guy is like "oh im sorry but it looks like your warranty is up, it actually expired about two weeks ago on may 8th" and im like "ohh interesting" and he then informs me if i send in my xbox it will cost 100 bucks and but i will get another year of warrenty, which is chill.

But still, 100 bucks and im two weeks past my warranty FUCK YOU MICROSOFT!! I hate it when a company's shit breaks right after warranty and you have to pay to fix it. Shit i dont have 100 bucks right now, im a poor college student living on my own. Looks like i wont be playing xbox for while, good thing my roommate has one ha.

Cliff Notes:

My xbox 360 broke two weeks after warranty and im pissed at Microsoft because it will cost 100 bucks that i dont have.

that sucks man. my friend had the red ring of death or some shit. i told him to make it over heat then let it cool for like 3 hours and that worked but it eventually kept getting the red signal and he had to send it in. took soo long he was pissed haha

moral of the story:

buy a ps3?

Yeah i got the red ring once, sent it in and got my xbox back pretty after actually.

And fuck ps3. They are the most un-user friendly pieces of shit. I was at my buddies house over christmas break for a week and they didnt have cable yet so i was watching shit on dvd and playing games whenever they were gone working and it sucks! It is so horribly set up it just sucks. Plus its more expensive that 100 dollars. I just dont like play stations in general, ps2s were slow and had shitty graphics and ps3s just piss me off more every time i use them.
 
sorry pussy footer, i was just kidding, but yeah that must be real frustrating, the gaurdians must be upset w/ you somehow, if you're real desperate try some crazy shit from youtube on how to fix your xbox 360. GTA IV is a fun game, how far were you in it?

but seriously..my friend has had to send in his xbox three times now, first time it came back and worked for about a week then froze again, then got it back the second time, it didnt work as soon as he got it and the hard drive cover was missing,broke again, then sent it in again, works now, but they didnt send back the power cable adaptor so he couldnt play it for 3 weeks until he got the wire back...microsoft=gay.

 
Yea. After my 3rd Xbox 360 broke, the guy on the phone told me my warranty was about to expire so I renewed it. It really is worth it to have a warranty on an Xbox 360.
 
damn shit sucks. i broke my ipod once and it wasn't covered by the warranty because i left it in my pocket and it bent around my pencil, but i sent it in to get fixed anyway, then they forgot to charge me for the new one that they sent. so you never know, you could get lucky receive a free xbox.
 
yea i havent played one so i dont know about the user friendlinesss but that 100$ does get you pretty damn far. blue ray player, and now that HD DVD is no longer being made its still useful unlike if you bought the external HD drive for 360 for like 150$. and then the online gameplay, free no monthly payments like the box. then the built in wifi already.. theres another 100$ for the adapter for xbox. and the HDD size, what is it like 40gb compared to 20gb or something? the motion controller is tiht for some games too. which the box doesnt have.

sounds pretty legit to me. one of my friends with both enjoys his ps3 alot more.

not against xbox at all by the way haha. i love chillin with my friends playing sandtrap infection with low grav high speeds allll the time. (halo3)

i think the ps3 is a little better just because it costs about the same or a little more then a blue ray player and its still a ps3 where as with x box you have to pay extra for everything

that is a great idea. because the 360 is shit and the ps3 dominates over it. the 360 is just shit period and the ps3 beats it in everyway.

not hatin on teh 360 but in most new games ps3 has a slight advantage on graphics and performance now. according to reviews ps3 plays gta4 more smoothly and with better graphics/colours.
 
Yeah I'm getting a PS3 once my new Xbox comes in so I can sell it. I was pissed when it happened to me. But damn that sucks about your warranty. Mine was 2 months from being over.
 
blue ray player....personally i dont care, but its whatever, if people are really into watching movies and shit on a gaming console than go for it. as for the online gameplay, xbox live is worth the money. by far. i'd pay $150 for it if i had to, its just that much better than ps3. and wifi? yeah thats great if your on the wii and your checking the weather, but good luck playing on wifi, it lags horribly, hardwire FTW
 
yo that happened to me to....TRHEATEN TO SUE MICROSOFT...demand like 3 people up from the answerer it works i did it tell them they make a rediculous product and there made to brake and all you get is a refurbished one that sucks and tell them youll sue them unless you get a new one. trust me it works
 
I got fucked like that also, but instead of paying 100$ and waiting 2-3 weeks I traded the inside of my 360 (including the serial sticker) for a brand new moded interior. Much better deal in my opinion, I can burn games, and it still works on live.

I bought and Ipod of a friend and the warranty ran out in 8 days, the scroll wheel jams up alot so i wanted it fixed. it would take about 10 days the indian guy from apple said , which mean i would be charged 32 dollars, or pay 40 and get a 2 year warranty on it. i said no deal

worked for me and i got a brand new ipod not a used one from my friend that Ian Compton threw at the ground.
 
ummm, im guessing you've never seen blu ray, and it is choice, some people don't care, but if you have an hd tv, it's worth it, makes movies look epic, and the ps3 is one of the cheaper blu ray players out there. i'm not sure if you've ever played on playstation network, or you just weren't paying attention, but it's more or less the exact same as live. There are no extra features live gets, it's the same thing, just one is free, one isn't. aand, i'm also guessing you don't use wifi often, because by now, with a good router, it's basically the same as wired. i'm not saying ps3 is overall better, because most people have tons of friends with xboxes and people like playing with friends, so that is the buy point for most people, but if you're trying to promote 360, say that, because if you try to say that xbox has better features, you're not going to get far.
 
You are a stupid piece of shit if you think PS3 is ''un-user friendly'', it is also almost the same price as 360. You deserved to have your Xbox break on you.
 
It is man, playing dvds on that shit was hell, all of the buttons and shit are confusing as shit. You damn ps3 guys are so defensive, but i guess i am too about xbox...
 
which buttons did you mean, on the controller? in the system? for me i just click on the dvd, and play it, and i use the bluetooth remote to control it. On another note, the bluetooth remote is the most pointlessly extravagant device out there, it works from like 100 feet away, it's crazy.
 
Like the game controler. Oh yeah its retarded you have to turn it off every time you change games too.

but ya, that is completely untrue, you go to the menu, press eject. It's a little complicated i know, but what do you expect from a ps3?
i have spent hours studying up on ps3 so that i would be ready for any argument, because about 15 of my friends have 360s (no joke), and so far, the only reason i'd buy one is to play with the aforementioned friends.
 
hey lets not get stereotypical here e-heath, im a 14 year old 9th grader and i honestly never play video games unless its at a friends house and thats all anyone there is doing, honestly tho i skied 102 days this season i didnt have much time for videogames, and now i still dont play them even tho the season is practically over cept for weekend whis trips
