1 Footers are completly normal... its a progression, its not a damn step back, than we should just destroy our sport because we took 99% of the tricks from snowboard, skateboarding, ROLLERBLADING. We should kill our sport because we took tricks from other sports. We should just stop skiing because we turn with our skis on snow, just like racers. We souldn't even slide a box, because snowboarders were doing it before us. This is bullcrap. This is an idea wich makes our sport step back. Why wouldn't we want the sport to progress in a way. You aren't happy? just make YOUR own way and leave the rest of the people alone with their ideas. Just do your damn thing and shut up. Open your fucking closed-minded brains to evolution. I can't believe someone actually enough stupid to say that 1 footers are not making our sport progress.

The one who said that rollerblading is not stylish and it was gay, should just go watch some movies and just try once.

 
ok, so we do presses... fine, where after that? snowboarding if you havent noticed by the X, has hit a plateau. sure we need to start doing presses. but what about having many differant tricks? eventually, every little kid will be able to do presses like sliding a rail regular, where after that?

ONe footers are sick, im sick on seeing only one varition to skiing hitting rails, the one footer is fresh, snowboarding and all other sports with rails have tons of variations, why cant skiing

 
There was only 1 1080 thrown in the Men's SB slopestyle comp. And I can't remember the last time I saw a double back revert, particularly one that looked that good. Plateau? Only if you mean that every comp Shaun White is in is a foregone conclusion.

I finally, got see Jons run, and he definetly should of had it. Everytime, he lands like he never even left the ground.

I think between Gagnier and T-Hall, it is pretty tough to say. Something I didnt like from either of them is that they both, after the second rail, 180ed to set up for the next jump. I think in slopestyle, it should flow, and that takes away from it.

I would have liked to seen one of the rails 5050ed, but maybe that is too gay also.

the reason we havent seen presses is because they are hard too do, I'm sure many pros have them but not at a level that they would for the xgames, and so everyone wanting to win throughs 'stock' tricks; that takes us back to EP statement about comps prohibiting progression.

In Teddy Bear Crisis you will see Tanner(I believe) do the sickest rail trick I've seen yey: he slides a flat bar handrail and gets on regular but presses it out at the end to a blunt slide and goes out fakie. Sickest trick I have seen in skiing yet. And thats just the beging...just wait next year there will be a couple pros doing it(just like true noses) and then two years every pros going to have a press in his bag of tricks.

first off quit calling them 'ONE FOOTERS' that can refer to about 10 different tricks. gangier's one footer didnt beat tanners 450/270, thats what made it close. What was it for charle's was his way better unnatural 720 with the styled out mute grab (beating tanner's hucked unnatty 720) and his better swich 1080 (with out touching down with his hand). Anyday it could have gone differently but this time charles had a better run so just give it up.

i dont think one footers are THAT gay, but a lipslide (esp with such a small ollie pad) is much harder on that rail than a one footer. and a 450 on to BS 270 out is worlds harder than a switch270 on.

So 1 footers are gay because they're easy? well a reguylar railslide is easy too, so thats gay too right? Switch 270 on is fucking easy so thats fucking gay? Your mom is easy, I guess that makes her gay too.

If you're so godamn scared of skiing ressembling rollerblading, you may as well just hang up your shit, because rollerbladers have long been doing royales/farvs/backsides/frontsides before any skier attempted to hit a rail...therefore, no matter what rail you're doing tosh, you're still a skier posing as a blader, according to your logic.

As for the comptetion...anyone here ever compete? do you know how slopestyle works? everyone thinks the judges just liked gagnier better. It's a panel of judges, they dont agree on a score, it's an average of all their scores. So some judges probably gave tanner a higher score than 91 and some gave gagnier a lower score than 92.6. And it doesnt take just a single trick to win, it's a combination of severeal things: style/technical difficulty/ amplitude/landing/etc. The judges have to evaluate each rider on these criterias to give a score, and gagnier's run was just clean as hell.

I am both a rollerblader and a skier and proud of both. So tosh just shot the fuck up or I'll have to beat you with my skates

I dont care if you disagree, but the Rollerblading attitude/cultrure/and most of the tricks are not where I want skiing. I would rather take influence from Skateboarding. I want skiing to be its own thing, but when I run out of inspiration I'm going to look at skateboarding and possibly snowboarding.

it seems like this stage of life for a lot of people around our age is like when you are playing a video game and you beat the Final Boss, only to find out that was just a decoy Final Boss and the real Final Boss is about 50x harder. and on top of that, you used all your special tricks to beat the Decoy, and you are also low on life. and you have a crappy third party controller.

i did a 1 footer every run on the 20 foot rail at the top of my park. to prove that they are not only easy but gay looking. if you can slide rails half as good as you need to be to do a tailpress you can do 1 footers already
