Guess I won't be drinking Starbucks anymore! ! !

Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to

let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they

send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines

thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not

support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops

their

brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by

buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I

know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't

mean we don't support the boys on the ground f ighting street -to-street and

house-to-house.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can

discard it and no one will never know.

Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I

deploy once more.

Semper Fidelis.

Sgt. Howard C. Wright

PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS . . ALLOW IT TO BE

PASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE

THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT! ! !

Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit the fire

fighters and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for

the survivors and workers and Starbucks charged them! ! !

JUST A NOTE TO THIS; STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES IN

THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS. GO GET

'EM AMERICA . STAND-UP FOR OURSELVES!

I seriously doubt that starbucks charged the firefighters/police/rescue workers for water. This is all a bunch of myspace crap.

Thats fucked up.

My concern is this: was it from a single customer rep person? Or was it from Starbucks as a whole. Cause I could see one customer rep responding with a letter like that, and if their supervisor saw it, they would just be fired. Can you really be sure this is how Starbucks corp. feels as a whole, or that this letter was just written by a random employee of the company?

If in fact this is true and the way Starbucks corp. feels as a whole then fuck Starbucks.

I do not support the war at all. I do "support" the guys fighting it though. Hell, even a lot of them don't believe in the war. They didn't choose to go fight, but they have to.

fakest shit ever, prob some myspace emo who got fired from there for cutting his wrists with the coffee grounder

i knew this was bullshit immediately.

but for other reasons, starbucks kinda sucks. I always go to this local chain called greenberrys which is right next to starbucks, its got really nice decor, free wireless (our starbucks makes you pay!) and better cheaper coffee.

The part where it got unbeivible is when we dont suport anyone in it. They might say they dont suport the war but i doubt they would say they dont support the troops.

i dont base my source of coffe/tea drinks on their political views or how some branch in new york acted, i like starbuck because of their actual products. thats what the do, sell me a product, i couldnt care less about how they responded to some troops in iraq, and it has nothing to do with the fallen soldiers, that was clearly thrown in to touch the bleeding hearts and gain support for (whoever made this)'s cause. fuck it, i'm going to starbucks tonight....

yah dude this is a myth/chain mail bull shit/old news

and that 9/11 thing wasn't the company's fault, they just reacted bad

Tittyfuck!

I can't stand it when people generalize about Second Cup or Starbucks like that. You CAN NOT compare the price of a specialty drink from starbucks (I.E. Latte, Espresso, Etc.) to a small Dunkin Doughnuts coffee.

If you compare the price of a Starbucks Coffee, to the price of Dunkin Doughnuts, the difference is a few cents for a much better cup of coffee, in a much more pleasing atmosphere.

The real issue with Starbucks (and any large coffee chain for that matter) is the mark up on their products and underpaid coffee growers. Next time, make a thread about that, instead of speculations you found on the internet.

Since when was this forum titled "Myspace bulletins" Don't post this stupid shit, everyone knows its fake and anyone who thinks it real is just dumb (or 12).

no, not "fuck starbucks"; "fuck JeffersonDavis". next time, instead of being a faggot, do some fucking research before you post HORSESHIT like this. seriously, all you had to do was google "iraq starbucks" and the VERY FIRST link is this one -> http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/s/starbucks-iraq.htm which is Sgt. Wright's APOLOGY to Starbucks.

do some fucking research, you dumb piece of dog shit.

*fun fact*

i learned in economics class that the reason starbucks is so expensive is not because of product but location. thier coffee costs around 90 cents, but in order for them to hold prime real estate to provide the most convenient coffee accessible they have to pay high rent.

its in "the undercover economist". check it out

So here is the case:

Planes hit world trade tower, 1000people die

Bush declared war on Afghanistan, killing 10000 die

Bush changes to Iraq 100000 die

Now Starbucks is the biggest asshole company is the country because they dont support war?

first off, the soldier thing is a rumor, not true

and about the 9/11 incident, some low-level employee still can't hand over shit for free without his boss's permission, getting fired would still suck, and starbucks sent the money back with a personal apology

and also, big corporations suck regardless, stop posting myspace bulletins telling us shit we already know
