alright so this was my second weekend skiing, last weekend no shinbang, and the first day this weekend none, and then after the second day i had really bad shinbang. I have good fitting fulltilt hotdoggers, and when i ski, i lean pretty far properly forward, off jumps and off rails i dont land backseat, I also have shintronics, also i had my boots checked out by the boot fitter, and he put foot beds in to have my feet more snug, my feet dont slide forward, the boots are the right size, and the shinbang is exactly in the middle of my shins about 4 inches of it. Would booster straps help or what will?

Booster straps could help. But you could try tightening you top cable and power strap before buying them, cause it'll obviously be cheaper. Also, play around with the forward lean of the boot - I actually took mine out completely so my boots can bend when I do. Other than that, I don't know, I've never had Shin Bang with my Full Tilts and I used to get it REALLY bad with my other boots (Dalbello and Nordica's), so it seems kinda weird. Hope that helps, I agree shin bang suck.

sounds like the problem stems from your legs, not your equipment. You can have stress fractures, long term damage and/or just weak shin muscles. Work our your lower legs is my suggestion. and eat healthy.

5 seasons ago I was riding crap boots that were to large and I started to get bad shin bang. Carried all through the summer as I could feel it when I ran. I skied once the next fall and felt like my legs were still trashed. I then bought new, proper fitting boots and still had the problem for the rest of the year. Took me almost 2 years to recover 100% from it. Do toe taps and toe lifts every time your sitting down. Low impact exercise is key too.

FT Hot Doggers are excellent park boots and he got them from at a boot fitter - I can't think of anything better.

I thought you said you had no shin bang..

Anyways, you can try my booster straps that I didn't put on my CS Pros yet and see if they help. With what you're talking about it might just move your shin bang to the very top of your boot though, along with possibly cutting off some circulation.

Or novacaine, every 3 hours, by your shins. Walking might become hard though.

Weird that you posted this. I'm in the same situation.. Second weekend back up on the mountain in new boots. I had some pain in my feet for the first few runs the week before, but as they packed out it went away.

This weekend I had an awesome morning, felt great and so did my shins / legs. Right before lunch I had a rather sketchy landing followed by a few backseat ones. My shins became kind of sore, and as the day progressed it got worse and worse. I've never really experienced shin bang before this, but I'm pretty sure it's full blown shin splits. It hurts to walk the day after.

tell us more about the footbed. if your feet cant to the inside (hope you know what i mean) then you need a footbed INSIDE of your line which adjust your feet in the right position. i ordered shintronics myself and it didnt work for me. you should train your muscle and have a break of 2 weeks cause of the inflammation. cold/hot therapy also works fine.

i have no shinbang anymore and i got shinbang in hotdoggers too. but these tricks helped me. hope i could help

I would get booster straps. I have last years booters and I put booster straps on them and I love it. I never got shingbang once last year. I even skied at CoC for a week this summer and landed backseat a bunch and didn't get shinbang. I always used to get shinbang in my old krypton rampages but the ft booters with booster straps are my savior.

your not a very good reader are you? and like everyone else said, mess around with your top buckle and your strap if that doesnt work booster strap fosho

my intuition power wraps gave me shinbang a little at the beginning. then i transferred over my boosters and problem solved

I was thinking about investing in some booster straps. If it's still bothering me next time I go out it's definitely worth a try.

Derrick, most of this thread is fucking worhtless. People talking about shin splints and shin bang in other spots won't help you. You can try my power straps, you do have space in the boots but the shintronics might have filled all that. I think that the most pressure on your shins is on the bone, so you are getting perca/membrane/whatever pain(whatever the stinging feeling you get is, forget what it's hurting). If you can make it so that the pressure is outside your bone a bit it will help.

wow im kinda dumb, saturday landed perfect stomped stuff, but fucking sunday, i over shot our parks only jump(its 35ft i think) but way way over shot it, was really icy and a hard landing that made me fall back seat, and just fucked my shin, right there and then, so im going for booster straps and going to try to land perfect always, if thats possible. thanks you all

I have SPKS and i only got shinbang this past weekend in my left shin...and I can feel a small bump when I run my hand over my shin...any suggestions on what to do?

DING DING DING

You kids need to think about what is causing the pain in your shins; because its stress from doing high impact activities, not the use of inadequate equipment. There is a reason that all the top athletes work out, your body is under a lot of stress and it needs to be able to support it! I bet most of you could solve your problems bu hitting the gym more often...

thank you, and yes the past week i hit the gym a few times and will continue to for the rest of the season.

do pbr curls and high altitude bong traing count. if so thats why i never get shin bang anymore.

also i have put an salomon pro liner in my FT Kreations, and that solved the problem, i find the wrap causes weird pressure points if you have chicken legs.

i have great fitting boots and last year i got some serious shinbang, i wondered what the hell was going on until one day i saw that my socks were sliding down and bunching up down by my ankle, i changed and got a good pair of socks that stayed up and problem solved!!

ex: good socks that dont slide around prevent shinbang too!

do u pronate or supinate? u might want to get ur boot fitter to check that out, and some proper cuff adjustment could solve this.

i had really bad shinbang last year so this year i have been doing a machine at the gym which basically works your calfs and i also bought booster straps and so far ive had no problems
