i broke the heel track on my Ti's back in december so i sent the whole heel piece back before christmas break was over. fast forward a month of nothing, i call salomon, "oh we just got it in we're looking at it" or something of that matter. another 2 weeks, nothing again call them back "oh we checked it out and it was a faulty piece you wont have to pay for anything" ok. so from that point i expect a new heel piece in the mail in a few weeks. i was wrong. fast forward to today may 9th 2008, almost SIX MONTHS LATER! and its here, and alls they did was replaced the track, so i skied 50+ days on my old skis/these skis with a 910 heel piece (way to many releases, even when cranked up). now i get to use these for days 99 and 100 of my season at tucks next week, and i dont know if ill enjoy it or not because of this. kinda just got fed up with salomon after taking that much time to replace a heel track. i can honestly say i will never own another salomon binding after this. thats the end of my "rant" i guess.

have a good summer

moral of the story:

don't get salomon bindings, unless you want to be a very sore 40 year old.

i've broken countless salo heel trays. i wouldnt recomend them unless it's the sth's, which are a little more bomber. sorry for your misfortunes man, but that's what happens w/ salo binders.

i just said salomon binders

i love my spks

and to the kid who said i didnt call for a six month period i "fast forwarded" through all the bullshit calls between the 2nd call n today there was a total of around 10 calls made to the same number.

It happens. I've done it twice myself to old 900 series bindings. Any decent shop will have old heelpieces lying around you can get a track from.

yea the healpiece track on my z12 ti's is kinda broken but still works, i should probably send it in soon.

Salomon only makes 2 good bindings right now. The STH16 and S916. The new STH14 could be a good binding if they only change the spring from the STH16 and leave everything else. I have a pair of 997's that are almost a decade old and they are bomber.

I've come to the conclusion that good ski bindings are an art. PX Rossignol/Look's suck, Saloman's suck, Marker's suck.

From my expierience, the only good bindings out there are FKS/P12,15,18 and Mojo/fischer's. Everything else sucks.

thats odd

I have never had any problems with them...but the reason they didnt replace ur heal peace is cause the whole thingwast broken...and it could be fixed without giving u a whole new heal peace and them loosing more money

but yeah 6 months is deff not an acceptable time...u should complain about that to them directley

haha that fucking funny too bad man i have never had a problem with them ever but having my uncle as a rep helps too...ha oh well man..shit sucks

wierd i have ti's and i weigh 180 they've never broke. but they ripped me off i sent the 5 bucks for stickers and i all got back was 1! faggots

soly's are horrible for binding replacement.

Its horrible... it takes forever. boots, skis, poles, whatever, no problem. Binders; wow. Just retarded.

Instead of doing that, go to your shop and get them to replace them on the spot.

now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

If anyone has this problem again, and you will if you have the ti heal track, just call salomon and have them send you a new track. While you are at it ask them for the steel piece, it is much stronger. If they insist that you send the piece back, take it to your local shop and have them call. I work in a shop and have had no problem getting tracks mailed out for free.

or very sore knees as a 14 year old, last season my solly heel pieces f'ed me up by not releasing and i partial tore my mcl acl and tore my meniscus, moral of the story i'll never buy salomon bindings again

bump

nope the titanium piece was the one that originally broke.

and yesterday was the 1st day i was back on them, and guess what? ^that happens and i also snapped both the brakes off. all from a 180 off a 10 footer.

again

fuck salomon binders

shit, reading this thread makes me regret just buying a pair of sth12's but hopefully i'll be alright cuz i weigh just under 130 and keep the DIN at 8

not gunna lie, i havent heard any regrets from my friends that ride the sth's, they have the solid steel track so it wont bust...or at least not as easy as mine did

Have you seen their facility? Do you know brohyms down there?

Nah you don't know shit kid. Keep your shit tight because I keep my shit on lock and if you fuck with mine, you're gonna get checked.

Salomon had a global depletion of heel tracks this year and the US subsidirary was in no position to recieve anymore. That why they were without the tracks for up to 5 months. It totally sucked but there wasn't anything we could do about it.

As for you situation with time, I remember you calling

huh, am i understanding correctly that salomon ran out of tracks? how the fuck does that happen? and what do you mean your shits tight, take a laxitive or somethin.
