where are you talking about these 50% taxes? obama wants to raise taxes on the top earning 3% of the population. THE TOP 3%. people making more than a quarter million dollars a year. now say what you want but if a person is making more than a quarter million dollars a year they can afford slightly higher taxes without being "taxed to death" i dont consider not being able to put another beamer in your driveway or owning a 2nd 3rd etc home being taxed to death, its unnecessary expenses.

idealy i would want president that would come up with a more logical plan for taxing the U.S. if canidate were to propose dropping income tax and increasing tax on purchases i would back them without a dought.
 
You obviously have never worked a day in your life have you? I don't like the idea of income tax but if were gonna have one I understand the need for a progressive one because the tax burden isn't put on the poor, but if you tax the risk takers too much then you will have no business and the workers will have no job.

Btw you accusing his dad of "racking in a ton of money at the expense of other people's lives" is a baseless claim. You don't know his dad or what he does so I would suggest that you refrain from such libel.
 
I disagree with Paul on that, but there are many people who would say that slavery would have died out in the next few decades because of new technology. Every other western country was able to abolish slavery without losing 600k men to battle. I don't think it is ridiculous statement to say that America could have done the same.

but yes, starting salary on Oakland PD (with a college degree) is 6 figures. but then you are the asshole rookie to every single person in Oakland.

That was because the Republican party fucked him over when they chose to support Bush instead of him when it was Gore v. Bush. The Republican party (not the republican voters) controls their primary, and they try to really influence what goes on, and they sent out all kinds of propaganda phone calls to southern republicans saying that "McCain had a colored baby out of wedlock" and other fucked up shit like that and it completely took McCain out of the race. Hell if somebody fucked me over like that I would run against the party like McCain wanted to also. Now that everybody is over that issue he has come back to the neo-conservative republican party and become their front man, and if you guys didn't notice, there wasn't a whole lot of competition in choosing their candidate, I wonder why.

ive never actually stopped in pleasanton, only charged by it on 680, .but yes it does look like quite the suburbia where a new detective is not pulling six figures worth of hazards.

You guys are just proving how greedy so many Americans are. Most of the countries in the world today with the best environmental, social and overall quality of life records are also the highest taxed. Theres a reason for it.

Thats cool for you guys though, because anyone who doesn't believe in the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer is a radical communist.
 
i am sorry but taxes are not ment to take from the rich and give to the poor, that is socialism which doesnt work. There is no incentives with socialism to do anything and progress. taxes are ment so the government can help the people not just a select few who need money
 
Its not socialism! socialism implies total equality, and thats not what were going for by any means. there will still be a huge spread in the wage earnings in this country, were simply trying to reduce the number below the poverty line. its not like welfare means you go buy bmw's and 3 houses, it means you have enough money to put food on the table for your family.

it's not complete socialism but it is a form of socialism, there are alot better ways to decrease the amount of people below the poverty line than just giving them money. allowing the people and cooperations who do make alot of money to spend it and create jobs work much better and benefits almost every one, it's called trickle down economics. Our economy is not zero sum just because some one makes money that doesn't mean they are taking it away from someone else

I don't agree. I'm french and highly taxed ... on everything. Just realize 85% of the price paid for a gallon of gas is taxes only.

Actually, hioghly taxed countries are good places to live ... for some categories ...

It means that in France, if you are low middle calss, with a lot of children, you will be helped by the state for virtually anything: the state gives you money for: your children school, extra curricular activities, baby sitting, you pay less taxes, you pay less for public transportation, your helped for holidays, etc etc ...

These systems doesn't make the rich pay for the poor. Actually, it makes one population, not really rich, pay for another, not really poor.

Moreover, rich people leave the country .. thus ... the more you tax rich people, the more you'll only have poor people in your country.
