Fuck Karma. It doesn't like me.

So the past couple of weeks I have thought to myself that I should try and be a better person and get karma on my side for the holiday season. So I have been going out of my way to hold doors for people, greet everyone, help out a little more, let people go ahead of me in traffic lines, etc. I have been doing Work experience through school with a house building company and thought I should be more generous this year in my gifts. I spent 3 times as much as I regular do ($200 a person). Then today, the day after fucking christmas I get in my first fucking car accident! I have spent almost $1200 on christmas and I had 400$ left in my account with one more cheque coming before the semester ends. I will probably be paying a 70% increase on insurance now and I have spent the majority of my money. I have another job that i work at once a week that gave me a little extra spending money, but now that is gone. I ski competitively and skiing is my absolute dream I want nothing more then to make it in the ski world. My parents are contemplating taking me out of the ski club no matter if I pay for all the damage my self or not (which I will be). I needed a new pair of skis but now that wont happen, cause I will be paying too much for insurance for 3 years now.
Long story short, this is the first time I have ever gone out of my way to increase my karma and it royally fucked me.

omg holding doors and spending all your money didn't stop you from driving into something?!?!?! That is groundbreaking shit right there.
 
im sorry, that really sucks man. i hope it straightens out the best it can. shit happens though....you will be alright.
not to be an ass, but maybe next year do that shit year round. thats my daily norm all day, every year. i am always courteous while driving, and being courteous to every single person you deal with in a day is SO easy and takes no effort. (hey, hows it going? thanks, have a nice day!"
thats totally irrelevant though, best of wishes man....thats a total nightmare during this time of year.
 
no im not talking about ns karma. Obviously NS karma is the only real karma out there.
As for the accident, I was coming down my driveway which is a hill and on to the road which makes a t-intersection, and I live in the county so the roads dont really get plowed. and i guess i was going just a little too fast( probably going around 20km/h) and my wheels slid a bit and I ended up taking the corner a little too wide and there was a truck right there coming at me, so i ended up hitting the drivers side corner of my car into the wheel well/door area of his truck.
 
hahha well funny story. I guess my drivers ed teacher made me a little more aggressive driver because when I was in drivers training I used to let everybody go before me and I was so cautious to make sure everyone went before me. Then my drivers ed teacher docked me marks for being to courteous.....
 
you must be one of dem "douchbags"...
bro that sucks man.. but the way I see it, is if this happened to the majority of the other kids in your school.. their parents would pay for it and there would be nothing to it... but this way your learning independence and real life skills.. and as a bonus your helping people, which you might as well keep doing.. i donno thats just my onpinion

Most likely do to the fact that there is no such thing as karma. It was made up to justify people getting fucked over.
 
you were being nice, yes, but only for your own good. maybe its a way of saying that karma is only given for true acts of kindness.

help the elderly to help them, not to look good

donate extra money to charity instead of spending it on your christmas gifts. they need it more than your friends, and your friends are already getting something from you.

always be a courteous driver. all the time. it makes the day easier for you and others on the road, and youll be less likely to get in an unnecessary accident at an intersection or in a parking lot.

i hope everything works out or you, i just think you had the wrong idea for gaining karma.

 
I have you NS Karma, don't think it will help with the car payments though...
And if you pay everything cash then your insurance won't go up if you don't report it. (not totally sure if that is legal or not though)
 
So you were that idiot at a 4-way that clearly doesn't know how to handle four red pieces of metal with a four letter word on it. Thanks for ruining my driving experiences on a daily basis.

if you do bad things you'll get run over by a car and end up in a coma. simple as that.
 
spending money, holding doors, and letting people go ahead of you in traffic with the intent of receiving some kind of unseen reward to your self is complete bullshit. Its not the reason you got in an accident, that happened because you were being careless. Probably thinking too much about holding doors for people. If you spent more time looking out for yourself you'd probably be better off.
 
do you mind me asking what excactly you spent 1200 dollars on this christmas. You decided to blow all your money on other people and you easily could have gotten away with spending a fourth of that.
 
my ski day started off terribly yesterday, my friend asked me if i had an extra air of poles, and i said yeah, so i remebered to bring the poles to the mountain for him, but forgot my gloves and goggles on next to wear i kept my extra poles. First run that day, i got nutted on a rail and completely stained my pants, another run, jacked my knee up on a c-rail, and just decided to end there because my knee was killing me. But hey, my friend got a pair of poles out of it!
 
First off it wasn't a couple days before christmas. It was at the end of November right before December started. Its not like before this I was was a monster who cut everyone off, shut doors in peoples face and grunted at people. I did do all the stuff I mentioned in the op before, I just took it to a higher level and literally did that for pretty much everyone. You know how much longer it takes to get stuff done during the christmas season when there are hectic people running around trying to get everything done? I once held the door open at a mall for probably 50 people. I'll admit it is something I should probably do more of, but you have to start somewhere. Secondly, I know you shouldn't help people out for the good of yourself, it should be to just be a good person. I am kind of in the wrong here, but I was not helping people out so that I could get a big Christmas present out of it, all I wanted was a good safe holiday were nothing went wrong and we could all enjoy ourselves. That is why I am a bit rattled that I got in an accident. But yes accidents happen and I probably could have done more to avoid it.
Also being 16 sucks. No body will believe your side of the story over a 51 year old mans story. So now I am pretty much considered to be completely in the wrong and he claims that I hit him 3 times which seems physically impossible to me because the only damage to his vehicle is on the front drivers side tire and wheel well area so if the angle of my car was at like 100-110 degrees to his truck (he was coming straight from my right, and I was turning right but slid out.. hopefully you understand the situation..) and he was going 30 km/h and I was going 10 km/h into his front tire area does it seem physically possible that I could have hit him 3 times with in a 3-4 foot area? I'm going to take this to my physics teacher to see if I can get a general idea if it was possible or not, but opinions anyone?
