So yeah, i turned 18 today...and i feel old. Im basically done with high school, anxious to go to college, but hell, the easy part is over...next year i am gonna be in the real(ish) world....

fuckin eh.

haha im not so sure i would consider college the "real world". yeah your more on your own but really its a lot of dicking around and partying and having fun. personally i wish i could stay in college longer than go back to high school.

word of advice i gotten from college kids that i party with. high school is a joke. just pass but make sure you have fun

I wish i was still as young as you. Not that im much older. But there is just something so unsetteling about finishing your second year of university. Its like you dont want it to ever end, but there are constant reminders that it will end. I swear to god this is my 4th quarter life crisis.

But have faith... My cousion who's 30 has a good job and still gets high every day, and still goes out to clubs. Sure she's been married once, but hey... thats life.

well, i'm 17, but i'm still kinda nervous about leaving next year, maybe after i decide on a major and stuff i'll feel better

if thats true then you probably wont have to pay for much in college. ive been working part time jobs since i was 14. my parents paid for some junk but i bought a lot of it(car, paid for dates and gf stuff, shit i wanted and didnt need). i have a few friends whos parents always paid for theyre junk and still do even in college. finding jobs in college isnt all that tough though.

i hate it too, but its so easy... that i wanna just kinda chill here for longer... but that may change next year. cause ill be almost out

happy 18th.

but college is not like the real world. im actually graduating from university in less than a year and I still don't even feel like im anywhere near the real world realm.

so what i suggest is enjoy every single moment of college and party it up, travel if you can.

i'm finishing up my first year of college and i feel old as hell too. But at least in my experince, college is easier than high school. you do some work, but mostly it's just a huge party.

yea exactly. don't expect anything realish at all going to college, it's just a wayyy enhanced way of life compared to highschool

he's absolutely right. i mean, sure you have to read more, study more (if you plan on succeeding), but college students party harder, and are up to way more mischeif.

Psssssh, you're still young, I'm 21.

btw - college KICKS ASS and is NOTHING like reality. In fact - it might make you more dillusional. It's a big party, study hard, play harder.

Life after college is fun because you have money, and you don't have to worry about exams, projects, ect... On the other hand it sucks if you get a day job. Its a big shock knowing my friends are skiing 2 or 3 days during the week while I'm fucking working, I'm still not used to it.

College/University life can't be simply classified.

You can say it's a huge party, because there are huge parties to join in on. At the same time you could be studying all the time and trying to get something out of you thousands of dollars of tuition.

With my small amount of experience, 1 year, I've have seen people take both routes. Getting wasted in the middle of the day, failing 3 or 4 courses in 2 terms etc, or acing every class.

One guy i know came in with a $5000 scholarship, which is what tuition costs, minus his res living. He's telling me about it and how he is a genious etc, whatever. I never got 90s in high school and this kid did, but at the end of the year, he has a C average, no more scholarship, and I was able to get an A-.

Another person I've met studies like it's his job, and ends up with 101% in calc I and physics II, 100% in calc II, A+ in everything.

Really, college/university is whatever you decide to make of it.

same but maybe not my whole life but for at least another 2 years... I'm not ready to graduate! I joined NS when I was in Grade 8, lol wow

yea I turn 18 on my last Exam..History June 29th

don't worry, college/university is NOT the real world. you think you're getting old but your best years are definitely ahead of you. and dont let the guy above me scare you, it's definitely possible to live it up and do well. if your smart you can party very hard and still have the time to pull good grades.

sorry to scare anybody, i was just speaking about a few people who i knew this year

from the people i went to school with this year, i know about 20 people who failed at least one course, and several who dropped the program either entirely, or dropped there second major

as an engineering student i've also noticed the general belief that any non-engineering subject is easy

if you think about it 18 is soooo young, like my parents always talk about stuff from 20 years ago like it was yesterday. think about it your not even half way to 40 and 40 isnt even old. i think it goes like this 0-9 is really really young, 10-24ish is really young, 25-30 is i dont know, 30-40 is not old, 40-50 is growing up, 50+ is just plain old.

I'm 24 man think about that, done school but living in whistler instead of moving on to real life with a serious job and all that crap, 18 isn't the end of the world trust me.

two words of advice,

stay in college as long as humanly possable.

and dont start complainig that your old untill you hit 30 that is when shit starts going downhill. when you start getting wierd allments and if you have a familly history your firts colonoscipy yea.

Dude you're not old, you're just coming in to the best years of your life! College comes first, it prepares you for the real world.
