Fuck i twisted my ankle

yea so i was fooling around and just did a right 3 off my trampoline and since it rained yesterday the ground is soft and my right foot suck and my ankle tweeked. so it hurts and now i am pissed because i probly sprained it or something. how long does it take to recover from an ankle injury? it isnt bad and i know other people who have had like swollen balloon ankles that recovered in like a month so do u think im alright for ski season? thanks
 
i have weak ankles and i twist them a lot. so it all depends on how bad you twisted it, but it might go to a full month until it doesnt hurt anymore. but dont worry it can also be less
 
yea iced it alot and it hurts above the ankle and i can still walk on it, just a little slow.

lol but you cant really do much about sprained ankles
 
i had a nasty sprain i was out for a good 3-4 weeks from sports, but i was able to walk without pain in a week.

well i see how rest and ice and all that is good for it. but i dont see the value in eating rice!
 
dont worry bro, i got mine sprained and you'll be aight for the ski season (which is the only thing thats important) i THINK it was like for 2 weeks or so not so bad man ice it and rest it be carefull thats it it heals very quick! unless you really fucked it up big time but i doubt so , recover quick!

Haha I was just gonna make a thread about this because i was skating and nollied off this like high loading dock thing and my ankle twisted to the ground. Now it hurts a lot, but i may have dislocated it because i felt it like pop today. I'm pretty sure it's sprained though. So any tips to heal it up quick would be great.
 
ice 20 min on, 20 off, 20 on 20 off, and then take a couple hour break and then do it again. don't fall asleep with ice on your foot so you don't freeze the tissue. when you don't have ice on it have an ace wrap on it wrapped from the bottom of your foot up and make sure there is some compression with the wrap but not so much that you lose circulation. you wanna make sure the circulation is being pushed back up to your heart, (this is why when you wrap it you start from the bottom->up). make sure it's elevated above your heart.

start slacklining you get strong ankles, ive twisted my ankle a couple times running and i just kept going so it works out very nice
 
yeah but guys if its sprained you cant do nothing than like "tape it" so it doesnt move and DONT STEP ON IT but i'd say to go at the hospital to get it cheked but idk if it would cost a lot, idk how it works in usa just to get something cheked, thats what i would reccomend so you're sure its gonna heal quick
 
yea thanks for the advice everyone. im probly going to the doc tomorrow after school. i can still walk but it hurts a little. i have been icing it and hopefully it will feel better in the morning. its a little swollen now and ill be slapping the ice bandage thing on it again in a few minutes. but the worst thing is, im probly gonna have to get a doctors note to get out of country line dancing in gym. thats gonna suck. lol i only wish i was doing that and not ultimate Frisbee to get out of it.
 
wait when did it happen? me it took about 4-5 hours and i couldnt walk properly no more like i couldnt put weight on it at all, but once i was skiing and i was sure it was sprained but it was ok after a night of sleep... you'll know 2morrow good luck! anyways its not winter so its all good
 
it was at like 11:30 this morning, right after i finished my senior essay about breaking my arm because i dont think about the consequences of the things i do.
 
I just sprained my ankle kind of randomly a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't weight it at all for a couple of days, and I had trouble sleeping because of the pain the first couple nights. Take ibuprofen, wrap it with a compression wrap, elevate, ice it, all that good stuff. You should be able to walk normally in less than a week. Mine still hurts some, and it's been almost two weeks now. I've heard it can take up to a month for it to feel normal again...
 
i just got back from the doc. a little while ago and they took an xray and its just a grade 1 sprain. he said it should be fine in a week

now lets complain about ankle injuries lol :) broke that shit in 3 places. im not hating dude ankles suck be careful with that shit let it heal right dont go fuck around on it now.
 
oh shit man, that looks painful. im not doing anything on it until i feel that i can. i am starting to walk with little pain now but im still going to be careful. +vibes man
