you don't have to be THAT well-off to have a cleaning lady...my family has a pretty average income and we have a really nice Philippino lady that comes in once a week....i guess if your living on your own then its definitely a lot harder to fit into your budget...

relax a bit. yeah, i guess it sucks to loose stuff you like, but keep in mind that the person who does it is the same person who cleans all the rest of your stuff on a regular basis.

Its not that much to hire someone to come clean your house unless you have a really big house or its a complete disaster. If they come once a week then they keep your shit under control=not too expensive. If you can find them without using a service its even cheaper. I usually keep my shit pretty tight though so in my current living situation I don't need them. If you live with a bunch of people it can definately improve house morale to have some outsider clean up after everyone. This way nobody feels like they are the only ones cleaning, because all of us have our own levels of filth compliance.
