There are plenty of well respected female nsers— most of whom have BLUE names. This is not a coincidence. Usually, they have either been lurked on by creepsters and changed to blue to avoid unwanted attention, OR, they simply identify as a person above and beyond their gender and don't wish to be differentiated. There are plenty of cool pink named chicks too for sure. I think giving femmes pink names is stupid personally.
In no way are ladies hated on by default here. There are a handful of 15 year old shit heads who try and come across as cool by making "back to the kitchen jokes" after jerking off to 4chan, but they're the minority thankfully. The ladies that garner hate almost always are deserving. Those that tend to attract the most harassment typically post myspace-esque photos, rarely post about anything related to skiing except possibly outerwear, create stupid threads, seek positive male attention in painfully obvious ways, overtly flirt with d-bags looking for e-girlfriends, and chime in on a variety of topics of which they know nothing about. I'd gladly provide a list of some prime examples of these chicks.
Overall though, ladies bring much needed balance to NS, and they are respected as long as they are positive and contributing members who are passionate about skiing.
