is funny because i bet somewhere there is a forum on some racer site having the exact same discussion about say........tanner hall..... who really cares what aspect of skiing whoever's good at its still sking and still publicity for skiing.......so in the long run bode helps us alot by giving skiing recognition and publicity and pretty much ....money

no we don't this is the reason i love freeskiing because its not fuckin main stream its all small rider companies(mostly) and for now as there isnt much money in it, skiing would be alot worse if we had all these bigger corps in it. look at racing everyone has the same fuckin ski some atomic thing

I'm down with Daron Rahlves, but I think Bodaaaay is a straight fagot, sure, he can out ski me, but honestly, I dont give a shit. He has a poor attitude and puts forth a bad image to the sport.

The fact of the matter is that you cannot be one of the best skiers in the world without being fairly versatile in other areas of skiing. It's all skiing. Why so much hate?
 
you guys know that bode can throw 7s in the park, and ski an entire downhill course on ONE SKI. now 7s arent that impressive but that guy has more talent than almost everybody here here
 
bode is good at what he does just like tanner is good at what he does. stop comparing racing to freeskiing. it's a pointless comparison.
 
bode's all right, his so called 7's probaly look like shit though. but i dont think anyone in the skiing industry can argue that seth is cooler then eevryone, he goes as fast as bode, hucks the biggest cliffs, and can hold his own in the park. and he is older then everyone.
 
so many are of you arent saying anything other then "fuck Bode..hes gay!"....ya well i'm sure that hes a much better skier then most of the douchebags that are saying that...sure he might not be able to do a bunch of newschool stuff but he is a great skier....i am not too sure what he got but i think it was something like 4th or 5th in the big downhill...i kno its not a podium place but hes in the olympics...up against the best in the world...so give him a break

Bode is amazing at what he does, Tanner is possibly the best at what he does. even comparing the two just shows how ignorant you are. there is no fucking way Tanner could even make a blip on the ski racing radar and Bode would probably be a pretty crappy park skier. they're incredible at what they do, but even comparing the two is like comparing golf to figure skating. even though they are both on skis, they're doing completely different things and you can't even begin to say one is better than the other. fuck this "fuck Bode" bullshit and fuck the "fuck Tanner" crap, too. they're both skiers, they probably couldn't care less about each other, yet for some reason you find it necessary to bitch and moan about Bode.

that argument you used right there solidifies in my mind that you really are a total idiot. you think you're an "expert" on the sport, yet you are too shallow to see the huge difference between freeskiing and racing. wow.
 
i never listend to that in racing, i would always get as much air as possible when skiing on super g. Most other kids were really pussy and scared of hitting the lip and slowed down and absorded
 
don't you want to minimize air in skiercross? I've never done it, but I would imagine that air time is not good. Or are you just saying that the jumps have kick, and racers suck when they go off jumps with kick?
 
I'm going to have to agree with cosco. No way bode could do chads. But it would definitely be possible for tanner to finish a downhill course within 20 seconds of bode's time. (I believe that was the challenge if I'm not correct.)
 
i should alter my statement before i get bum rushed:

I think that tanner would have to train a lot less to complete bode's challenge than bode would have to train to straight air chads.
 
i dont know what i have seen of tanner is that in the air he is sick and even in the backcountry but when i see tanner between pipe hits and just skiing he doesnt look to impressive. I think tanner might be able to finish 20 seconds within bode but 20 seconds is a pretty big margin in ski racing
 
that's not even the point. we shouldn't be arguing about who is the better skier, because it's basically impossible to A) find out since neither of them probably care enough about something so stupid to actually do some type of competition or whatever to determine something so trivial, and B)compare the two disciplines. the two different types of skiing require such a different bag of skills that anyone who tries to compare the two is really just showing how little they actually know about skiing. not only that, but the little "challenge" you're talking about is horseshit. if Tanner has to come within 20 seconds of Bode (i assume that's a two-run combined time, which is how competitions are done and would actually be very difficult), then Bode should only need to jump an 80-foot table or something like that. see the idiocy in trying to even compare the two? they're both GREAT at what they do. why the fuck do we have to bitch and moan and debate this shit when it really doesn't matter at all and there isn't any way to actually find out? anyone who has ever jumped in a race course knows how hard it can be and we all know how challenging the park can be, so can't we just respect these guys for what they do and be done with it?

just so you all know bode is actually pretty sick at throwing tricks in the park. I used to ski with him back in the day and he would throw huge 720's adn this was in the late 90's, i mean he was a snowboarder for years so he could do tricks, so i'd say it's purely his choice to race. don't argue over who is the better skier, it's all in the eye of the beholder- basically why can't anyone be satisfied with their own opinion and have to get approval from all others, think what you want but stop fucking arguing about it
 
wow.... what about when skiing started in norway as a way to get around? your saying that if racing never came around people wouldnt be skiing? that doesnt make sense. and true GOOD skiers can ski everything, like pep, hes good at all of it, big mtn, park, pipe, riding, everything, there are many views on this and its a pointless argument so shut up
 
The two are good skiiers, who seem to have fun doing what they do, and they both seem to get that skiing is about fun, and nothing else. Looking at it any other way is letting the politics and bullshit of the real world into the lifestyle of skiing.
