ok, so i just found out at work tonight that my ski shop that i work in at my local hill (mt kato) is shutting down next year. this means no more posh ski shop job next year on the mountain and no more hook-ups from ski companies. fuck afton alps because it's due to their shitty sales that my shop (mt kato) has to close down. fucked up, isnt it.

 
Mt. Kato is closing??? I hadn't heard anything of the sort...I've been there a couple of times (I ski out at Great Bear in Sioux Falls) and it's always been a pretty decent time. Why are they closing or whatever?

closing down the shop is the smartest thing afton alps has ever done. The shop has never made a profit once and it's been open for like 20 years. They sell like 10 pairs of skis all season. If your pissed about not getting proform I suggest you put a little effort into it anyone can get proform you just have to go looking for it.

 
That shop was ridiculously overpriced, i was in there earlier this year, and for example, they had last years PEs for like 450, which is outrageous, i can fully understand why they get no business...

just to clarify, afton alps shop is staying open while mt. kato ski shop is closing. mt kato ski hill is still staying open. and i did find someone else who's gonna proform me some 4frnts anyways.

 
In general... Afton Alps just fucking sucks. It's the iciest hill in MN. Such bullshit. Anyone ski Trollhaugen? I used to before I moved to LA but that place is waaaaay over priced. It's like 31 bucks... 10 more bucks I could ski copper or something. Such bullshit.

 
to clarify afton alps retail shop (is closing). The only thing in the shop will be sk repair demos and accesories like gloves and hats. Afton is an absolute shit hole and I have no respect for people who waste there time even skiing there. Go some place fun like Trollhaugen or Wild Mountain
