Alrighty, some of you might have saw my threads, i got some skis and boots im getting red of, cause im gonna rebuild, restore, and repaint this bad boy, and need some cash:

first, i am a qualified shop tech, and all work has been done professionally, and for appropriate reasons, theses ARE NOT hack mods

Up first on the block is a pair of VERY lightly used Dalbello Krypton Crosses. size 28.5, 326mm bootsole. they have been pretty heavily customized, but for performance, NOT fit. they still fit just like new, so they arnt all blown out and such. on the lower cuff, i opened up the back of the two spines, in order to soften the flex slightly. on the tongue, there are two notches in the corner to slightly soften them. the lower buckle is flipped rampage style, and since the latches are longer, there is a notch to accommodate them. they have Booster Pro straps (3 bands of elastic). on the liner, they have the full Dr. Scholls hookup (the BEST impact absorption out there, even if it is low tech). the way its setup, is the footbed, a Gel heelcup under that. outside the liner, theres a half length gel footbed, and a get wrap around the top and front of the toebox. this setup provides a good deal of heel lift (which helps keep you out of the backseat, specially with centered skis), and the toebox treatment completely gets red of toebang. if you wanna remove all that stuff, its just held inplace with a lil duct tape. the flex is not much softer than stock with the cutouts, but it IS more progressive, and feels much better than new. i dont believe the flex bocks will still fit (to REALLY stiffen them up), but if you do want them stiffer, new tongues from the pros can be had from any dealer for very little or free. all the original parts, as well as the original straps, and the box, are included. i think i lost the little allen key, but meh, its just a 4 and 3 mm allen key. not hard to find.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Next, is a pair of 179 K2 Silencers. babied and ridden on and off most of the season, ridden normally maybe 2 weeks (i blew out my ACL in march). there are some minor cosmetic scratches and chips, and one that was down to the fiberglass, which was promptly epoxied. the bases are in good shape, not big gouges, just some rail marks, which will be gone as soon as they are ground. i would offer to refinish and wax them, but our shop is closed for the season, so no go. as for the edges, there are no cracks. they are hand detuned underfoot, and beveled to about 2.5 degrees on the base. as for the bindings, they ARE NOT FOR SALE, and will be removed prior to the sale. the toe is a 3 screw unit, with 2 screws in the standard look front position, and 1 in place of the two normally found closer to the toe lug. they are mounted to those kryptons, at a 326 bootsole, 1.5cm forward of core centerline, so you shouldnt have a problem mounting them.

so, make some offers people!!

its nice now, but i got big plans for it.

its incredibly clean, with absolutely no rust or corrosion on ANYTHING. its got a full shimano 600 14 speed build.

im gonna strip it down, polish the fuck outta everything, repaint it electric blue. its gettin white bartape, saddle, and cable housing. the drivetrain is gettin replaced with all new shiny shit, new tires, a longer stem, clippless SPD pedals, etc etc. its gonna be quite the sexy oldschool road racer when shes done, all polished, white, and blue, no black on it. :-)

it would be the PERFECT fixie since it has no lugs and angled dropouts, and it will probably be turned into one eventually, but right now its staying a traditional road bike, since i do about 100-150 miles a week-no fun with 1 gear

the only reason why i wouldn't convert it to fixie is that it has a road geometry and reverse horizontal drop outs. those are mostly ascetics and bike feel though. i have an old nishiki roadbike frame to convert to fixie but i'm thinking of scrapping it to get a true track frame, then im finna go SF on its ass, matching deep V's, some risers to match the deep V's, maybe an aerospoke front wheel

yup. they were 5 bucks, i rebuilt them, and they are insaine, that toe piece is SICK. solid aluminum, and you can change how linear or progressive the release is with a switch on um

oh, and someone buy these! im thinkin like 150ish for the boots, 100 for the skis, maybe a lil less.

honestly, they are one of the funnest skis ive ridden. i had a hookup with 4frnt lined up, and was just waitin for the 08s to get in. in the meantime, i grabbed these to hold me over. never ended up bothering to get the 4frnts, i liked these alot more, and i love the stl and msp.

they are pretty damn stiff at first, but after a couple days, they are perfect. they are the poppiest ski ive ever been on, and the flex is on the higher end of medium, but im 150 lbs, and have NO problem olling and doin crazy butters with them. still real stable on landings, but with that mount, they are a little bit sketch at speed, but def not bad. they ride switch reall nice too. im not even saying that to try and sell them, they really are that good. only reason im willing to part with them, is i have a full heated pneumatic press (took like 2 years to fuckin get finished), and have alot of really out there ski designs i will be building, and dont wanna ski on commercial skis anymore. otherwise id keep um

yeah dude. on top of road geometry, true track dropouts are so much easier to work with. i'm currently riding a bianchi brava road frame and i drop chains like it's going out of style. and that's really dangerous with no brakes.

good call on not going fixie with that frame, chris kid. wait til you can afford to build one on top of the road bike. i wouldn't have one if it wasn't for already having a sick road bike (specialized allez elite).

haha, this thread is just all about my bike, someone buy the skis!

but yea man, i want a fixie for class commutes and stuff, but they just arnt practical, specially not for longer commutes (since i pretty much stopped driving) and road rides.

oh, you wouldnt happen to have a 100mm or so quill stem floatin around would ya?

yea, 28.5 is right about a 10.5-11, depending on bootmaker. id say they are right between. and yes, they are seriously fuckin perfect boots, with all sorts of good extras like booster straps and shock cushions.

no way, i love um, as do everyone who i know whose rode them, they are cheap as fuck, but they are still real legit skis. they feel almost identical to the old PE on which thier based. i liked the old ski alot more than the current version, and this is pretty much it at half the price

oh, and those white skis, hanging below the silencers are up for grabs too, not quite beat to urban, but not a 100% ski, they are 177 STLs with custom graphics and some nice power 120s, 75 bucks shipped, 100 for the k2s (without bindings), 150 obo for boots

shit i dunno. not much. i could do the whole deal for 90 bucks shipped. hows that sound? pm if interested

eh, fuck that, im feeling nice, 80 bucks shipped. skis are in ok condition, but the bindings are worth that alone.

man I'd be on those kryptons if they were more around size 10 even.

I just fill out my size 10 combat boots.. I wonder if the .5 is that bad of a difference with all my sock layers on and such

half sizes arnt real. a 28 and a 28.5 are EXACTLY the same size, but a 28 has a slightly thicker footboard to take up a bit more volume. thats it. most boots they dont even change anything. with all the padding and shit added into these, they fit a bit snugger. youd be fine. its a low volume boot anyway
