I need to let off some steam!!!

I took my brand spankin new Bluehouse MR's in to get mounted 2 CM back from true center yesterday. I told them: quote "I want 2 cm back from TRUE center... as in center of the ski, not sidecut center." I called today to see if they followed my very simple, specific directions.

OF COURSE NOT!!!

I've got fucking waterskis now... they mounted my skis 2 cm back from sidecut center...

FUCK!!!!!

Unless you watched them write it on the work ticket, you are kind of both at fault.

You should have marked a line on the ski so they wouldn't fuck up like they did.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but you won't get new skis out of this. Free remount, MAYBE

yeah the same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I even marked the spot and they just ignored it. The jerks told me all they could do(had two other pairs in stock) is cap the holes, which always ruins the integrity of the ski, not to mention any chance of claiming factory defect in the event they break. About a week later i broke them right on old "filled" holes on a little whale rail. Needless to say, dont let it die man, make them replace the skis or refund your money. You are not at fault for their bad communication.

agreed!

I spacifically told them dead center of ski... I pointed out the scale on the side of the ski and told them "this is sidecut center. I want them 2 cm back from dead center" I then placed my hand as to draw a line on the skis at dead center. The store is a big sports retailer. they've got the bucks to replace the skis... I'm gonna bitch till they do. I am not gonna be rollin on plugged BRAND NEW skis.. its their fault. I made it clear. they claim to be the EXPERTS..... they owe me new skis.

I don't understand why people don't draw a fucking line...
It sucks that this happened to your skis man, but there are just too many chances that you are taking if you don't actually draw the line on your ski.
As for getting free skis, be prepared to make a huge spectacle of this along with a huge ass of yourself. You may end up getting them eventually, but don't expect it to come without a price.

True story.

Since you didn't draw a line, you are at fault. If it comes down to an argument, it is your word against theirs. And in that case, they win.

Sorry bro

*****UPDATE*****

so I went in and talked to the shop, after fourty-five minutes of negotiation I finally got them to buy me a new pair of skis. Even though they fucked up, they did not try to hide it at all. they guy that was working the day I brought them in just happened to be there and he backed my story about wanting them mounted off of the true center.

BIG THANKS TO BLUEHOUSE,

I had to call Bluehouse to get another pair of skis ordered. they were super cool and offered to give the shop a discount on the replacement skis. very understanding and I am confident they will get the skis out to me as soon as they can.

Lesson to learn.... make a liine on your skis before you bring them into a shop, explain it clearly what u want, and fuckin watch em do it. I didn't think I was going to have to go that far to get my skis mounted where I wanted em.

true it was bad comunicatino but as a former store worker we would have to write down specific instructions on the slip in teh little notes section so they should have wrote that down and and the tech shouda known what to do or if he didnt atleast ask where to mount them better ask then fuck up....dont give it up u prob can get a new pair out of the deal maybe not blue house if the shop doesnt carry them but something so good luck mang

ha ha

since they don't deal with used gear.. I'm gonna see if I can snag that pair too... ya know. just because of all the pain and suffering they caused me. otherwise I guarantee I see one of the techs on the hill this winter riding around on em... but i'd rather have them for me!!!

if one of our techs fucks up a customers skis (not purchased in the shop) the tech eats it. we've only blown one mount in the three years ive been there, and it was a naxo binding that we didnt have the template for, and the guy bought them off ebay and the paper template that should have been in the box wasnt there. needless to say, we didnt claim responsibilty for that one, we told the guy, he said he needed it the next day.
