A pair of blades doesnt cost $800, I have in fact never seen one priced that much.. Plenty of them for 150-300 bucks. I picked up a pair of brand new RB Dirks for $75 instead of $200 few years ago when they were new, a simple, durable (not diamond encrusted or something) pair is good to go.

its much more comfortable to skate with baggy clothes one, tight stuff restricts your movement. and i think rollerwarehouse has k2 nemesis for like 129? thats what i'm skating right now and they are super comfy, huge soles too, but get different frames on em, i recomment either gc3's or xsjados

ok well in the 'short grind shoes' catagory i guess rollerblading is the least gay compared to SOAPS or those shoes with 1 wheel in the heel. But it just cant be compared to skiing. With skateboading it takes a while to learn to ollie over a curb. Rollerblading u can just jump up on it the first time.

Eastar5 wins the idiot of the thread award. 'Yeah, these sports are GAY because somebody told me they were, and I like being a trend whore.' Please, stop making an ass of yourself, and don't post anymore. If you don't like blading, ignore the sport. I'm not a big figure skating fan, but not paying any attention to the sport is pretty much as far as I need to take that.

Conceptdude, don't worry about frames and so on yet, the stock Remedyz 03one setup is sick. Those are what the guy in the picture up there has on. When you pay $200 bucks (they used to be $350), you get a damn good setup out of the box, at least in this case. I have to suggest you get one or two sies smaller than your shoe size in Remz, though, because a loose fit does NOT help performance, and it'll become really comfortable as they break in (the liner is so bloody soft that it'll eventually compress and mold to give you more room). Probably a size 9, if you can fit in it initially. If you want to learn more about the benefits of frames, bearings, wheels, etc, look for a decent agreesive inline forum and ask a few questions. There are glossaries online too.

we as rollerblader decided to forgo learning to hop onto a curb. we skipped right to grinding and airs. the fun part. nothing like spending several weeks or longer learning to get the board off the ground, then doing the fun part. we as a community decided jumping onto curbs was not the fun part of 'extreme' sports (although i hate that phrae)

i have nothing against sateboarding, a lot of its sick. but i dont think its as cool as everyone says it is, and i hope rolling never gets as big as skateboarding, id hate to lose my soul
