^yes snow skiing is oiginal, but freestyle is greatly influenced by snowboarding, rollerblading, and skateboarding. we were obviuously not the first ones to grab our boards.

first off its not fruitbooting... its rolling you fuckin idiot... second of all i guess you dont like things like candides 810 disaster railslide bc that I CAN GUARENTEE stemmed from rollerblading as well as the 450 as well as 270 lipslides... they are all just derived from 450 bs royales and 270 bs royales... second of all skiing is fucking easy as hell compared to rollerblading if you start skiing after you have been rolling for a few years because you already have the fundamentals its just a matter of transistioning yourself to them... i have been literally skiing twins for 2 seasons and not a lot of days those seasons yet im better then a shit load of people for that time range and i owe that to rollerblading... so eastar5 shut the fuck up bc uve prob seen one too many vert contests of the japanese brothers... do urself a favor and get a real movie of rolling like hashassians and tell me that rolling isnt a good influence for skiing....

God damn it! i am sick and tried of this trash talking between differnt sports! In my town i have a huge group of friends who are inliners, skateboarders, skiers, snowbaorders and there is no shit between anyof us! we all respect eacher and we all understand why we do what we do. the love of it. If i can accomplish one thing in my life it is to stop all this hate bewteen us in our respective sports! Respect is the key, you do what you do because you love it, i do what i do for the same reason, get over it and hang out. Fuck!

 
I'm not a fan of Rollerblading...i don't owe the sport any respect but i don't think its horrible. I would rather not have it influencing skiing, but that wont happen so i'll deal with it and just get my inspuration from other places, like skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding.

The one thing that i don't like about rollerblading is the overall aditude that they have of 'were hard core, balls out shit, i slide rails 30ft off the ground' its like they have to prove them selves to the world or someshit and it makes the people in the sport seem arogant. I feel alot of that coming off in skiing also, and i think that is why people frequently compare the sports, and why tanner hall has to express that, but by him expressing that alot of people will then knock alot of that shit off, i keep skiing real, and not let it fall in the hole that rollerblading is in.

 
rollerblading is good training in the summers. you learn to keep your balance over your feet like you should. you don't case landings as much because you learn not to land on your tips or tails.

the first time i skiboarded i thought it felt exactly like rollerblading. but when you move to skis, there is little comparison. you bring your style and your rail skills but everything else is different.

 
the style of rollerblading has alot of knee tucks and shit, and you see that moreso in snowbladers, note how its called snow'blading'. Skiing is its own style, you cant cross up mute on rollerblades or snowblades, well i guess you could with snowblades but it would look uber gay.

Skiing is directly influenced by rollerblading. Liu Kang Grab. Japan Grab, Mute Grab, One footed slides. spins onto rails. Even though some of these tricks might not be cool anymore. They still have a big influence and are still used all the time. Note that these were rollerblading tricks long before skiing went big. Just embrace and quit trying to qualify skiing as an original entity that isn't influenced by anything. I think it's just fine and I don't skate.

get over your-selves, youve only watched what the media puts out there: capri-sun ads, and x-games vert. most of you have never seen a real skate video. if all i ever watched was x-games, i could think that skateboarding was hard (like chess) but super boring, but it takes watching a video (like flip's sorry) to see how insane skateboarding is.

in conclusion, just because tony hawk doesnt like rollers, doesnt mean that us rollers can bring stuff we know into our skiing. and noone looks at skiing and rolling as the same, trust me, it takes someone to overly analyze it.
