Frozen Skate Park

that was sick. i feel like itd be actually less sketchy than roller blading cause you can actually edge and hockey stop or whatever, and falling on ice really doesnt hurt in hockey pads unless you really land awkwardly. normal falls on the ice don't hurt at all

(obv gonna avoid the "what sport isn't?" argument here haha)

is it though? a mix between skiing and rollerblading seems sort of cool. ive always thought rollerblading's biggest drawback is that you can't smear turns and stop/edge the way you can on skates

hitting that park on some sorta dull skates would be super fun

it seems cool. but who will really ever have access to a skatepark for ice skates.

i'm a pussy though, it's probably just me who wouldn't want to go near that course, I prefer walking and not being paralyzed.

yeah so pointlesseverything sucks

I can't imagine it would be much worse than falling in a skate park or on concrete.

Sick looking sport though.

everyones missing the fact that theyre wearing hockey equipment.... at the end you can see shoulder pads and pants etc. with full equipment I wouldnt be very afraid of that at all. id be more worried about catching an edge and fucking my ankle or something

I'd love to get on my hockey gear and hit that, it looks so fun. But just as someone else pointed out already there is now way to have acces to this kind of stuff on a large scale I guess

If they could figure out rails that you can grind in hockey skates I could see this actually becoming something. Pretty sweat, looks identical to rollerblading.

what's the difference between this and a concrete skatepark falling-wise? If anything I feel like it's safer since you slide a lot more when you fall.

Unfortunately I don't think it'll ever catch on due to the massive amount of work going into an unsustainable park

Gnar. Cool idea but the lack of grinds/slides and the massive amount of maintenance required for that course kills any chance of success the sport has.
