Front page....ugly?

Why would you make the front page half the normal layout and colors and the main part a color scheme and layout that is no where else on the site? Just doesnt make sense and looks pretty cheesy if you ask me. Doesnt match the rest of the site, harvey would be dissapointed in you nopoles!

It's to make the page stand out. It doesn't have any unique content, just parts of other areas.

And for the record, the new front page was a joint effort by CKO and myself.
