so my parents have been raging over this show for the longest time now, and I decided to take a look.

This Australian dude, Tim Cope, travels +10 000 kilomtetres alone by horse from Mongolia to Hungary in an attempt to retrace the journey made by Genghis Khan, a journey that took him 3 years.

Its pretty sick, heres the commercial for it if youre interested, the documentary itself is in 4 parts and is called "On the Trail of Genghis Khan"

this guy rode across Canada dressed like a knight. not quite as far, but still around 6000 km.

Now Tim needs a 3 year journey with braces... but for real that was badass, can't imagine trying to do something like that.

this is pretty cool; but like this is only one dude; it doesn't truly represent the amazingness of what the mongol empire accomplished..chinngis led military units of all sizes and either destroyed you, forced you to blend to his way of life, or blended his culture with yours if he saw efficiency in their culture. im not taking anything away from this dudes amazing feat but it doesn't begin to represent what the first masters of the horse accomplished..history is baffling
